CALABASAS HILLS, CA, June 08, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lissi Kaplan (Felissa Gardner) has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Marked by more than 40 years of creative contributions across multiple disciplines, Kaplan has led a distinguished career as a fine artist, author and business owner, with her work widely celebrated for its emotional depth and technical mastery. Through Lissi Kaplan Fine Art and Lissi Kaplan Porcelains, established in 1997, she continues to expand her artistic repertoire, focusing on porcelain painting, fine art, and children's book writing. She is the author of The Power of a Teacup (ReganBooks/HarperCollins), Light as a Feather (Little Finch Press), and Ludee the Ant and Her Happy Hats (Little Finch Press). Her book, The Power of a Teacup (ReganBooks/HarperCollins), is included in the collections of the Library of Congress, a distinction that reflects the enduring impact of her work. Through these works as well as school visits, she shares stories and artistic insights with children, inspiring and encouraging them to express their creativity and kindness.

A hallmark of Ms. Kaplan's journey is her ability to channel personal experiences into transformative art, particularly through the challenging process of painting roses on porcelain. This achievement stands as a testament to her dedication and skill, marking a pivotal moment in her career when she mastered the rose motif — a feat she likened to conquering Mt. Everest. The emotional resonance of her work has allowed her to connect deeply with audiences and collectors all over the world.

Ms. Kaplan's longstanding commitment to porcelain artistry began in 1997 with the establishment of Lissi Kaplan Porcelains. Over nearly three decades, she developed a signature tea collection for The Peninsula Beverly Hills that defined the hotel's aesthetic and became an integral part of its identity. Her porcelain pieces have been acquired by prominent figures around the world including Hillary Clinton, Tony Blair and First Lady Nancy Reagan, (Nancy's Garden porcelain collection is featured at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library), as well as California dignitary gift commissions presented to international leaders.

Since 2018, Ms. Kaplan has also contributed as a textile designer for Roostery.com (now Spoonflower Inc.) in Calabasas, California. Her designs have brought a unique artistic vision to various textiles, further broadening her influence in the decorative arts sector.

From 1993 to 2003, Ms. Kaplan owned and designed Interiors By Design in Calabasas, California, where she applied her creative talents to various chinaware, jewelry boxes, elegant vases and more. Prior to this role, she served as an interior designer at Bel Air Crest Home Development from 1991 to 1993, contributing to high-profile residential projects.

Before becoming an acclaimed artist and author, Kaplan studied voice at the University of Southern California and trained as a coloratura soprano. As a young performer, she received honors for her vocal and presentation abilities, laying the foundation for a lifelong commitment to artistic excellence across multiple creative disciplines.

Prior to venturing onto her professional path in the arts, Ms. Kaplan pursued higher education and earned a Bachelor of Arts in sociology with a minor in opera from the University of Southern California in 1975. Her education provided her with a strong foundation in both social sciences and the performing arts, fostering a multidisciplinary approach that continues to inform her artistic practice today. Determined to make an impact outside the classroom as well, she was an active member of the Alpha Chi Omega women's fraternity.

Reflecting on her remarkable journey to date, Ms. Kaplan attributes her success to maintaining a positive outlook and unwavering commitment to mastering her craft — qualities that have enabled her to navigate challenges and achieve excellence. Her entry into porcelain painting was inspired by discovering hand-painted porcelain heirlooms from her family's collection; captivated by their beauty and history, she devoted herself fully to learning the lost art of porcelain painting, particularly focusing on mastering the intricate rose motif. Through daily practice and perseverance, she transformed personal adversity into profound creative expression, achieving widespread recognition for her emotionally resonant works.

Alongside her professional pursuits, Ms. Kaplan is also known for her civic-minded contributions with organizations such as The Guardians of Los Angeles Jewish Health. She has been honored as a dignitary gift painter by the State of California, a distinction reflecting the esteem in which her artistry is held.

A proud mother and grandmother, Ms. Kaplan resides in Calabasas Hills, California, with her husband, Douglas Rosner. She enjoys Pilates, gardening and walking in nature — activities that often inspire her artwork, especially motifs drawn from birds and natural landscapes.
In 2026, Kaplan was selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who in recognition of her longstanding contributions to the arts, literature, and creative education.

Looking toward the future, Ms. Kaplan intends to continue writing children's books and creating porcelain paintings for private commissions while remaining open to new opportunities that align with her passion for art and storytelling. She remains dedicated to inspiring others through her creative endeavors and sharing her talents with future generations, always with a focus on kindness and being one's authentic self.
