FONTANA, CA, June 10, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Albert Slater has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Slater has established a distinguished career in telecommunications infrastructure, data network design, wireless systems and voice systems design, earning recognition for his expertise and leadership over more than four decades. Since 2024, he has served as the chief executive officer of Patron Projects in Fontana, California. In this capacity, he consults with clients on infrastructure upgrades, designs telecommunications systems for campuses, collaborates with architects on new building projects and oversees the retrofitting and upgrading of existing systems. He also manages project implementation to ensure installations occur without disrupting critical services and provides training to clients on new systems. His approach emphasizes not only the importance of designing projects but also ensuring that execution meets the highest standards.
Mr. Slater emphasizes that Patron Projects distinguishes itself through an integrated approach that combines design expertise, project management and dedicated client advocacy. Rather than treating clients as transactions, the firm prioritizes personalized support, helping clients feel informed, protected and confident in their decisions. His goal is to serve as a trusted advisor and advocate, not simply a vendor.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Slater was the director of consulting operations at WTC Consulting Inc. in California from 1999 to 2024. During this period, he focused on consulting and design operations while also gaining significant experience in project management by leading teams and overseeing installations. For the preceding four years, he held the position of manager of installation services at Expanets, now known as Avaya.
Mr. Slater began his professional journey in 1983 as an installation and maintenance supervisor at A.L. Communications. Entering the field due to family circumstances that required a move to California, he started working for his father-in-law, a phone man, who introduced him to telecommunications. His early responsibilities included leading installation crews and performing hands-on work, such as installing copper and fiber optic cable under buildings—an experience that provided him with a solid foundation in both the technical and practical aspects of telecommunications infrastructure.
Throughout his career, Mr. Slater has demonstrated a commitment to professional development and excellence. He is a member of BICSI and is proud of obtaining the Registered Communication Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification from the organization in 1997—a milestone that elevated him from a local installer to a globally recognized consultant at a time when there were only about 4,000 such professionals worldwide. In 2008, he further distinguished himself by earning the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
Educationally, Mr. Slater's background includes coursework in chemistry at Colorado School of Mines and additional studies in architectural design at Metropolitan State University of Denver. He also holds an OSHA confined space certification and an AMP infrastructure cabling certification. Beyond his education, he attributes much of his success to the guidance of influential mentors throughout his career, particularly the owner of WTC Consulting, who imparted valuable lessons about client advocacy and ethical business practices. This mentorship reinforced Mr. Slater's dedication to recommending solutions based on client needs rather than vendor profitability—a philosophy that has set him apart in the field.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Slater is actively involved with Jehovah's Witnesses, participating in ministry work, and supporting Kingdom Hall building and remodeling projects. He also responds to disaster relief efforts when called upon to assist affected communities.
Born in Sacramento, Mr. Slater maintains strong family ties despite the geographic distance between relatives in California and Colorado. He is dedicated to supporting his parents—his father currently resides in a nursing home with Alzheimer's disease—and regularly travels to assist his mother, brother, and sister. He is the father of three adult children and has two grandchildren; family remains central to his life.
In addition to his professional commitments, Mr. Slater enjoys traveling, riding all-terrain vehicles, and taking family trips to Hawaii in his free time. Looking ahead, he is preparing Patron Projects for a succession plan that will see his son Justin eventually purchase the company while ensuring continued stability and growth under new leadership. He is committed to developing his team by investing in their professional certifications and fostering their growth so they can assume greater responsibility for client relationships and business development.
