HENDERSON, KY, June 12, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Corey Thomas Silveira has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Silveira currently serves as the lead estimator at Hazex Construction Co. in Henderson, Kentucky, a position he has held since 2020. He has distinguished himself through his ability to translate complex geotechnical and subsurface data into actionable construction insights, with particular expertise in earthwork modeling, quantity estimation, and the interpretation of soil and marine substrate conditions. Among his most significant professional achievements is his work on the MassPort Conley Terminal Berth 10 project in Boston, where he led the analysis of multiple marine substrate strata to evaluate off-site disposal options, demonstrated that the engineer's underwater blasting estimates were overstated, and defined hazardous material boundaries that substantially reduced off-site disposal costs. On the subsequent Berth 10 Phase 2 project, he developed a complete underwater rock profile and managed the full quantification and pre-bid coordination of 863 steel piles ranging from 60 to 140 feet in tip elevation depth. Together, the two projects represented over $120 million in contracted value.
Prior to joining Hazex, Mr. Silveira spent nearly fourteen years at D.W. White Construction in Acushnet, Massachusetts, from 2006 to 2020, where he advanced through roles encompassing office engineering, project cost estimation, and assistant project management. Working under chief estimators Greg Dvorak and Steve Cobb, he developed his foundational expertise in plan review, takeoff calculations, and conceptual estimating. His work on the Route 6/10 Interchange Reconstruction in Rhode Island — a $267.7 million RIDOT project involving the reconstruction of multiple bridges and ramping systems across 12 engineered construction stages — was a defining milestone, demonstrating his capacity to lead complex, multi-firm earthwork design efforts and re-engineer project phasing for efficiency. He contributed similarly to major MassDOT bridge replacement projects along Route 3 and Route 16, each exceeding $30 million in value.
Separately, Mr. Silveira served as the independent Civil Construction Consultant on the Mizkan Plant Expansion, a $7.7 million civil project involving a 375,000-square-foot facility redesign. Selected on the basis of his regional expertise and heavy civil background, he worked directly with the owner, project engineers, and general contractor to develop a phased construction strategy around active facility operations, ultimately compressing the schedule and aligning the project to budget constraints.
Academically, Mr. Silveira earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in 2010. He holds an OSHA 10-hour certification, an AutoCAD certificate from Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School, and a CAD Drafting certificate from the American Design Drafting Association, all of which complement his proficiency in industry platforms including AgTek 4D, HCSS Heavy Bid, Bid2Win, Bluebeam, and Procore.
Mr. Silveira's entry into the construction sector was shaped by his father, a union equipment operator who introduced him to job site surveying at an early age. Leveraging AutoCAD experience from his technical high school coursework, he quickly adapted to office-based roles involving plan review and takeoff calculations. He credits much of his work ethic and practical instincts to those formative experiences, as well as to the hands-on influence of his father — the son of a Portuguese immigrant tradesman.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Silveira has contributed to his community as a volunteer coach for local youth soccer programs. Happily married to his wife Jennifer and a devoted family man, he enjoys gaming, spending time with his dogs, and traveling with his wife to experience new cities and destinations, alongside hiking and camping as a balance to his professional responsibilities.
