Since 2024, she has served as a senior vascular sonographer at Stanford Health Care in Palo Alto, California, where she oversees an ultrasound laboratory that has expanded to include 12 technicians. She is particularly proud of her promotion to this role, which has presented both challenges and valuable opportunities for professional growth.

Beyond her technical oversight responsibilities, Ms. Tenny periodically collaborates with students from a local college and instructs those serving residencies and fellowships in ultrasound techniques. She finds great fulfillment in these academic endeavors, especially through her involvement with a continuing medical education program where she contributes as an educator.
In addition to her primary role at Stanford Health Care, Ms. Tenny has been a course creator and instructor for Medmastery in Salzburg, Austria, since 2020. Through this platform, she develops curriculum and delivers instruction and test questions on advanced sonographic practices for aspiring students, further solidifying her reputation as an authority in the field.

From 2016 to present, Ms. Tenny has held the position of vascular sonographer at Stanford Health Care. She conducts vascular ultrasounds, obtaining clear images and providing compassionate patient care while upholding rigorous quality assurance standards. Her dedication to excellence is evident in her daily practice and contributes significantly to the institution's reputation for high-quality diagnostic services.

Prior to joining Stanford Health Care, Ms. Tenny served as the lead vascular sonographer and registered cardiac sonographer within the department of cardiology at Palo Alto Medical Foundation from 2014 to 2016. Working with pre- and post-surgical vascular patients, she managed complex diagnostic procedures, communicated with primary care specialists to ensure accurate exams, and supervised and mentored visiting sonographers.

Ms. Tenny's earlier experience includes her time as a registered vascular technologist at Mint Medical in Oakland from 2011 to 2014, where she conducted comprehensive vascular studies, spearheaded proposals for new sonography equipment to enhance patient care and provided weekly educational courses for third-year medical residents at Highland Hospital.

Beginning her professional journey with roles outside of direct medical imaging, Ms. Tenny worked as a certified group fitness instructor with the American Council on Exercise, where she promoted wellness and physical activity among diverse populations from 2009 to 2011.

Before venturing onto her path in vascular sonography, Ms. Tenny pursued higher education and earned a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology with a minor in psychology from Texas A&M University in 2009. Determined to make an impact outside the classroom as well, she was a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society and the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. Her dedication to educational excellence saw her named to the national dean's list and selected for inclusion in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.

To expand her knowledge and qualifications, Ms. Tenny is certified as a registered diagnostic cardiac sonographer and registered vascular technologist by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Furthermore, she holds credentials in basic life support for health care providers from the American Heart Association and was certified as a group fitness instructor and massage therapist.

Spending her formative years abroad, Ms. Tenny completed high school in Taipei, Taiwan, before relocating to the United States for college. This international upbringing instilled in her a strong academic motivation and determination that continue to drive her success today. Reflecting on her storied health care journey, she credits much of her achievement to the encouragement of her family, friends, managers and patients who value her insights across various subjects.

To share insights, expand her network and stay aware of best practices, Ms. Tenny is actively involved in the Society of Vascular Ultrasound, the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

Beyond her professional commitments, Ms. Tenny is passionate about animal welfare and volunteers her time at a local animal rescue. Happily living with her boyfriend and a proud cat owner, she enjoys traveling and exploring new towns during her personal time.

In the coming years, Ms. Tenny aims to advance ultrasound technology with an emphasis on more precise and innovative imaging modalities such as 3D imaging. Eager to collaborate closely with surgeons on surgical protocols and research studies, she aims to refine procedures and support health care to further enhance outcomes for patients, families and the sonography field at large.
