O'FALLON, MO, June 17, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rhoda D. Banks, SHRM-CP, CPC, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Earning recognition for her impact in building and improving talent management functions to address complex business challenges, Ms. Banks is a distinguished leader in human resources and executive consulting. As the founder and principal consultant of The Rhoda Experience LLC — established in 2025 — she provides strategic guidance to organizations seeking to strengthen their culture, recruit high-quality candidates, develop succession plans, identify talent gaps and implement comprehensive talent management solutions.
Ms. Banks' work also includes facilitating leadership development, analyzing workforce trends, advising on best human resource practices and enhancing employee engagement. The company's name was inspired by the lasting impression she has made on colleagues and clients throughout her career, with her charisma and transformative approach becoming known as "the Rhoda Experience."
Prior to launching her own firm, Ms. Banks served as executive head of culture and inclusion at American AgCredit from 2022 to 2025, leading initiatives to drive cultural transformation for over 1,000 employees across more than 40 states. She initially joined the company as head of talent management in 2020, during which she developed and executed strategies for talent acquisition, retention and leadership pipeline development.
Ms. Banks' earlier tenure as vice president and head of talent management at Rabo AgriFinance in Chesterfield, Missouri, from 2019 to 2020 further solidified her reputation as an expert in strategic human resources. She directed all aspects of talent management, ensuring full alignment with business objectives and organizational growth in the company's post-merger environment.
From 2016 to 2019, Ms. Banks excelled as the director of talent management at Aegion Corporation (now Azuria Water Solutions), where she implemented programs to attract, develop and retain top-tier professionals. Her leadership contributed significantly to the organization's ability to adapt to changing market demands and prepare comprehensive leadership succession plans.
Ms. Banks' extensive experience at Sisters of Saint Mary (SSM) Health spanned nearly a decade in progressively responsible roles: system director of organizational development and performance management from 2015 to 2016; system director of innovation and learning from 2014 to 2015; corporate director of project implementation, process improvement and education from 2012 to 2014; director of information technology training from 2008 to 2012; and training manager from 2007 to 2008. In each of these positions, she drove large-scale change initiatives, enhanced the capabilities of department leaders and drove best onboarding practices.
Beginning her professional journey with various roles at Saint Louis University School of Medicine from 2002 to 2007, Ms. Banks gained foundational experience in academic administration, financial analysis and revenue cycles. Her earliest work experience included four years with Burger King, which saw her attain financial independence and drove her determination to pursue higher education while balancing her family and academic responsibilities.
Alongside her primary roles, Ms. Banks has been an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management through its local chapter and previously chaired the membership committee for the Saint Louis Organization Development Network, which spreads awareness of best evidence-based workplace practices throughout the Greater St. Louis area.
Hailing from an equally accomplished academic background, Ms. Banks earned a master's degree in health care administration from Webster University in 2008 after completing a master's degree in human resource training and development there in 2004. She also obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Lindenwood University in 2002, building a strong foundation for her advancement into executive-level human resources roles.
Ms. Banks has also pursued extensive professional development through certifications that underscore her commitment to lifelong learning and excellence. Most recently, she completed coursework in artificial intelligence for human resource professionals at the University of Missouri-Saint Louis in 2026 and became a certified coach through iPEC Coaching in 2025. She was also certified as a qualified administrator by the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) in 2024 and completed a course in diversity and inclusion through eCornell in 2022.
Resiliency, courage and faith have been central themes throughout Ms. Banks' life; she credits each of these qualities for her ability to overcome adversity during her upbringing in low-income housing projects in Saint Louis as the eldest of four sisters. Her mother's sacrifices enabled all four siblings to attend a Lutheran parochial school with support from local church grants, exposing them to valuable new opportunities beyond their immediate environment.
Ms. Banks is further recognized for breaking generational cycles of poverty by challenging inherited biases and redefining what is possible for herself and others facing similar circumstances — a source of immense pride throughout her professional journey. Also known for her dedication to civic-minded initiatives, she is a co-founder of Women Unite to Ignite — a non-traditional empowerment retreat that brings women together through various learning, storytelling and reflection activities — and served on the board of the Saint Louis Community College Foundation for five years.
Ms. Banks' creative endeavors are equally notable. She is the host of "Breakthrough Conversations with Rhoda & Co," a podcast she launched in 2025 that features prominent guests such as TED Talk speakers and explores leadership topics relevant across all industries, including mental health, creativity and self-acceptance. Also an accomplished author, she published the widely acclaimed memoir "Daughter of an Assassin: Turning Pain into Power" through The Rhoda Experience in 2025 — with the book's cover art created by her brother after they connected later in life — as well as "Moments: An Inspirational Devotional Journal" through AuthorHouse in 2018.
In her personal life, Ms. Banks enjoys attending theater performances and Broadway shows, singing, creating leadership programs and helping others build their LinkedIn profiles. She is happily married to James Banks — owner of the home renovation business True Remodeling — and is the proud mother of James Jr., who resides in Arizona after overcoming significant challenges, as well as Jaylen, who is completing a college business degree following his athletic scholarship achievements.
Looking toward the future, Ms. Banks intends to expand on the success of "Daughter of an Assassin" by adapting it into a movie or television series while expanding Women Unite to Ignite into an ongoing platform that supports women's collaboration all year round. She also aims to grow "Breakthrough Conversations" by securing sponsorships and broadening its reach within the professional community, with her legacy of resilience and empowerment continuing to inspire all those who strive for excellence against the odds.
