MATTESON, IL, June 18, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Talia Thompson-Jones, DNP, FPA-APRN, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Thompson-Jones has established herself as a leader in healthcare, wellness and aesthetics, with a career spanning more than two decades. Since 2022, she has served as owner and doctor of nursing practice at Belle Lueur Wellness Spa PLLC in Flossmoor, Illinois. In this role, Dr. Thompson-Jones has focused on providing medical wellness and aesthetic services tailored to the needs of individuals with skin of color, addressing a significant gap in the industry. Her expertise encompasses obesity medicine, weight loss and nutrition, elective intravenous hydration, body contouring, hormone replacement therapy and cosmetic procedures such as Botox and fillers. Through Belle Lueur Wellness Spa PLLC, she has created an inclusive environment that acknowledges the unique characteristics of darker skin tones and strives to amplify the voices of underserved communities.

Since 2018, Dr. Thompson-Jones has also been the owner, founder and family nurse practitioner at Premium Practitioners Plus in Flossmoor, Illinois. At this primary medical care facility, she provides comprehensive care for basic medical needs, including annual physicals and laboratory reviews. She is recognized for her proficiency in managing chronic health conditions prevalent in the African American community, such as hypertension, diabetes, obesity, congestive heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The facility's contract with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services enables her to bill insurance for patients while also offering community outreach activities at no cost.

Since 2014, Dr. Thompson-Jones has concurrently served as a Transition-of-Care Coordinator with Cook County Health and Hospitals System in Chicago, where she plays a critical role in reducing barriers to care for medically underserved and vulnerable populations. In this role, she helps patients successfully navigate the healthcare system after hospitalization or clinical encounters by coordinating timely follow-up appointments, arranging transportation, facilitating referrals to primary care providers and specialists, and helping ensure patients understand and access the next steps in their care plan.

Her work directly supports continuity of care for individuals who may face socioeconomic, transportation, insurance, health literacy, or access-related barriers. By connecting patients to needed services, closing referral loops, and helping prevent gaps in follow-up care, Dr. Thompson-Jones contributes to improved care coordination, reduced risk of avoidable emergency department use and readmissions, and stronger long-term health outcomes for the communities served by Cook County Health. Through this role, she advances health equity by helping patients who might otherwise be lost to follow-up remain connected to essential medical care and community-based support.

Her clinical experience further includes serving as a family nurse practitioner at Physicians Medical Services Ltd. from 2018 to 2024 and at Infectious Disease Solutions from 2022 to 2024. Earlier in her career, Dr. Thompson-Jones worked extensively in critical care settings, including intensive care units, cardiac units, neurointensive care units, surgical intensive care units and trauma intensive care units. Her dedication led her to long-term care roles in underserved communities where she became director of nursing at skilled nursing facilities facing significant challenges due to poverty. Through her leadership, she elevated several facilities from one-star ratings to five-star ratings.

Throughout her professional journey, Dr. Thompson-Jones has demonstrated resilience and determination—qualities shaped by her experiences as a teen mother growing up in an urban area marked by poverty. Despite being told she would not succeed, she used these challenges as motivation to excel academically and professionally while providing for her children. Her story serves as an inspiration to others facing similar obstacles.

Dr. Thompson-Jones's academic achievements include earning a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Walden University in 2022, following a Master of Science in Nursing with a family nurse practitioner focus from Walden University in 2016, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chicago State University in 2005. She credits her success to her faith, her family's support and her unwavering determination.

Her scholarly contributions include the authoring of "BMI Screening Tool to Identify Elementary School Children at Risk for Obesity," published in Walden University ScholarWorks in 2022. During her doctoral studies, she developed and implemented a clinical guideline for obesity screening in school-based settings—a testament to her commitment to preventive health measures.

Dr. Thompson-Jones's professional affiliations include membership in the American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She was featured in South Suburban News for her work and recognized as second runner-up for Director of Nursing of the Year.

Her civic engagement is reflected through volunteer work with Educating Our Community and All Things Pretty Inc., where she contributes time and expertise to support local initiatives.

Born in Chicago, Dr. Thompson-Jones enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and working to rebuild her grandfather's farm in rural Virginia into a retreat where people can unwind and disconnect from daily stresses. Looking ahead, her foremost goal is to help close major gaps in healthcare access and reduce inequalities for people of color through continued advocacy and innovative service delivery.
