Since 2012, he has served as CEO of DCMC Construction LLC., a union company specializing in State and Federal government contracts. Under his direction, DCMC Construction LLC., has expanded its operations with offices in Albany and Brooklyn, New York, and is opening a new office in Miami. The company is recognized for building multimillion-dollar projects to deliver a quality job, and employing skilled union labor to deliver prevailing wages to its workforce. Mr. Young was also featured in several articles, including the Albany Business Review, and The Capital Region Kings and Queens Royal Gala, recognizing him as the top General Minority Contractor.

Before his current role, Mr. Young attended a five-year rigorous apprenticeship program within the union learning how to build bridges in New York City. After graduation from the program, Mr. Young started working throughout several different union trades including working for National Grid providing electrical services that broadened his technical skill set.

Mr. Young's professional journey began in masonry with the unions in Brooklyn, New York, where he spent over five years working on different bridges throughout the five boroughs of New York City. He advanced very quickly by becoming a Foreman, five years later promoted to Superintendent, then within four years he was promoted to Project Manager, overseeing and managing large-scale commercial projects throughout the Tri-State area. His educational background includes a high school diploma. He then went on to further his education by earning multiple diplomas in Engineering, Architecture, Design, Welding, and Structural Steel.

A pivotal moment in Mr. Young's career occurred when his Business Agent, Jeff Starks, encouraged him to participate in Governor Andrew Cuomo's pilot program for minority contractors. Mr. Young excelled in the pilot program by using strategy and doubling his profits, and he graduated number one in the pilot program out of 675 minority contractors, earning him the top spot by exceeding and surpassing the program goals of $5 million. This inspired him to establish multiple divisions within his company include commercial construction, building bridges, building heavy highways, building roads and city streets, construction management, and commercial cleaning, which has collectively generated over $10 million in revenue for Mr. Young's company.

Mr. Young's influence extends beyond his business endeavors through active civic engagement and mentorship. He volunteers with organizations such as Equinox Program—Giving Back to the Homeless—and Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. As a mentor and guest speaker, he shares his expertise with young entrepreneurs at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and New York University, as well as various unions and industry groups.
