FONDA, NY, June 24, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Joe Saltsman has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Saltsman has established a distinguished career spanning four decades in nuclear steam turbine and digital controls, earning recognition for his expertise and innovative contributions. Since 2025, he has served as a nuclear controls consulting engineer at Sargent & Lundy, where he advises clients on reviewing vendor documents, attends vendor testing demonstrations identifies potential pitfalls to ensure informed decision-making regarding expenditures and purchases. His guidance is instrumental in helping organizations navigate complex technical landscapes and optimize their investments.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Saltsman served as a senior nuclear controls engineer working on the BWRX-300 project at GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy from 2022 to 2025. In this capacity, he contributed to the advancement of nuclear steam turbine control systems, leveraging his extensive knowledge to enhance operational safety and efficiency across the industry.

From 2020 to 2022, Mr. Saltsman worked as a steam turbine controls engineer under contract to General Electric Company through Quest Global. During this period, he played a key role in developing and maintaining advanced steam turbine control solutions, further solidifying his reputation as an expert in the field.

Between 2017 and 2020, Mr. Saltsman held the position of nuclear controls engineer at Exelon Corporation. His responsibilities included overseeing critical control systems for nuclear facilities, ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory standards and contributing to the safe operation of power generation assets.

Earlier in his career, from 2001 to 2017, Mr. Saltsman served as a steam turbine controls engineer at General Electric Company. Over these sixteen years, he was integral to numerous projects involving the design, implementation and optimization of turbine control technologies.

Throughout his professional journey, Mr. Saltsman has demonstrated a commitment to innovation. He holds four patents: one for targeting and tracking airborne objects (#7433021/#7738087), one for a musical keyboard method (Patent #7253349, awarded in 2007) and another for systems and methods for controlling flow valves in a turbine. The latter invention (#12,607,162) is particularly significant for its application in converting ocean wave energy into electricity. His patented power takeoff mechanism distinguishes itself by capturing energy during both upward and downward wave movements through an innovative built-in gravity stroke. Complementing this technology is a comprehensive control system designed by Mr. Saltsman that synchronizes the power takeoff to the asynchronous nature of ocean waves to maximize energy yield. This advancement sets his work apart from conventional approaches.

Mr. Saltsman's academic foundation was laid at Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering with a focus on power systems in 1985. This rigorous education provided him with the technical acumen necessary for his subsequent achievements in engineering and innovation.

He is an active member of IEEE, reflecting his ongoing engagement with professional development and industry standards.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Saltsman remains involved with civic-minded organizations, including his local church and the Republican Committee.
