As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Gupta, known professionally as Adi, has established a distinguished career in the technology sector, marked by a series of progressive leadership roles and significant contributions to global organizations such as Google, Amazon, and LinkedIn. In 2023, he founded Adya, which began as an agentic AI startup he developed through the Antler venture bootcamp, to which he was admitted in both the United States and the United Kingdom. As its Chief Executive Officer, he has led the company through its formative years, demonstrating his capabilities in startup leadership, general management, and go-to-market strategy. Adya has since grown into a venture studio through which Mr. Gupta partners with and guides founder-CEOs across multiple post-revenue and venture-backed AI startups at various stages of growth, taking on hands-on technology and product leadership as a fractional Chief Technology Officer and Chief Product Officer. In this capacity, he manages multiple teams of software engineers and product managers, develops and maintains long-term product roadmaps, collaborates closely with founders on business strategy and fundraising, and advises them on product development, market fit, design, strategy, and operations. Mr. Gupta has served clients across the globe, in Indonesia, India, the United Kingdom, and the United States, supporting startups and founders backed by respected venture firms such as Y Combinator, Antler, Ovo, and Robot Ventures. The founders he has worked with are drawn from institutions and organizations including NASA, Google, IIT, Stanford, the University of Pennsylvania, and the University of California, Berkeley, one of them a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree. His work has spanned designing, coding, and building initial product vision and versions, overseeing product management, and coordinating cross-functional teams, all while conducting coursework and research as part of his graduate studies at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
In 2025, Mr. Gupta additionally took on the role of fund manager through VC Lab, the venture capital accelerator known as "the Y Combinator for venture capital," where he further honed his expertise in investment management and venture capital fundraising, finishing among the top three percent of fund managers in his program.
Prior to these entrepreneurial ventures, Mr. Gupta served as a Senior Technical Product Manager at Amazon from 2022 to 2023. There, he led a team of ten to fifteen engineers and data scientists and assumed profit-and-loss responsibility for the first time in his career. Under his leadership, the team generated more than $500 million in recurring revenue by year-end 2022, more than seventeen times its original target, through innovative work on global search-ranking algorithms for retail products. This achievement stands as one of Mr. Gupta's most notable professional milestones. He subsequently authored and delivered a multi-year analytics roadmap, aligning several organizations and the vice president of marketing behind it, to measure more than $38 billion in annual recurring revenue derived from nearly $4 billion in annual marketing spend, serving more than 100 million users globally across more than a dozen channels.
From 2018 to 2022, Mr. Gupta contributed to Google in several capacities. As a Technical Program Manager on the wearables team, he worked at the intersection of hardware, operating systems, and healthcare. He led a major, media-covered launch at Google I/O, delivering a new user interface for Google's smartwatch ecosystem with a team of more than 20 engineers across three cities over three quarters; the launch continues to influence the design of the Pixel Watch and tripled application engagement on these emerging devices. He subsequently drove a high-priority, multi-quarter engineering effort to resolve long-standing critical issues in the Google Fit application, leading the product to its first-ever 4.0 user rating. He also played a key role in supporting Google's acquisition of Fitbit, upgrading Google's health-data infrastructure and directing the accessibility initiatives and change management required to onboard the Fitbit organization. His responsibilities expanded to include organizational management alongside program and project management for large engineering teams.
Earlier at Google, Mr. Gupta served as a Partner Technology Manager and Solutions Engineer on the Google Maps team in London from 2016 to 2018, an early version of today's forward-deployed engineering role. He owned the software product and operations that ingested train and bus data from thousands of partners worldwide, from data aggregators to public-sector transit authorities, supporting transit data accessible to more than a billion users globally. Holding final go/no-go authority on each, he personally led more than 700 transit data launches and relaunches over two years. These covered market-opening beachheads in São Paulo, Singapore, Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata, alongside large new integrations such as the pan-European coach network Flixbus and India's redBus, and collectively reached more than 200 million users. In the course of this work, he engaged directly with leaders at major transit authorities, including San Francisco's BART, New York's MTA, and Hong Kong's MTR. This experience deepened his expertise in large-scale products and partnership management.
Mr. Gupta began his professional journey as a software engineer at LinkedIn in Bangalore from 2015 to 2016, following a 2014 internship there during which he was recognized as the strongest intern in his cohort for re-architecting the company's internal site-analytics platform. He designed, built, and maintained software across the full stack, from front-end interfaces to back-end machine learning infrastructure, for a platform then serving more than 300 million users. The content-reporting experience he authored in 2015, surfaced on LinkedIn's homepage to its more than 800 million members, remains in use today. He also re-architected the artificial intelligence and machine learning infrastructure that filters spam, profanity, and politically sensitive content, and supported the research-engineering team in auditing new machine learning research and in building and improving label-collection mechanisms.
His early career notably included research-assistant work for Stanford GSB's SEED program, helping to launch the Innovate Delhi Entrepreneurship Academy, from 2013 to 2014; an internship with the energy department of India's Planning Commission (the predecessor to NITI Aayog), where he served as one of two developers of India's first national energy-planning calculator, an official tool launched by the Government of India; an e-governance consulting internship with PricewaterhouseCoopers India in 2013, advising a public-sector technology client with $60 million in annual revenue; membership on the marketing team for the United Nations Youth Changemakers Conclave from 2012 to 2013; and a tenure as head of business development for AIESEC Delhi University from 2012 to 2013, where he led a team of fifteen to raise a record three million rupees for student initiatives.

He is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was granted a selective Wharton Fellowship in recognition of his exceptional achievements and future potential, and he previously attended the executive Master of Business Administration program at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management in 2025. He earned a Master of Public Administration in public policy and economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science in 2022, and completed the Product Management Executive Program at the University of California, Berkeley, in 2019.
His foundational education includes a Bachelor of Technology in computer science and engineering, with a minor in economics, from the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi (IIIT-Delhi), in 2015, where he graduated as valedictorian, received the Chancellor's Gold Medal, and completed a capstone in complex econometric modeling that built on his work at India's Planning Commission and on policy models developed from World Bank datasets.
The influence of family has been central throughout Mr. Gupta's life, and he attributes much of his success to his parents. His father rose from humble beginnings in rural India to become Chief Secretary of the state of Sikkim, one of the highest-ranking positions in the Indian Administrative Service, India's elite national civil service, and studied at the Harvard Kennedy School; his example has served as an enduring source of inspiration. Mr. Gupta likewise credits his mother for her unwavering and selfless support throughout his upbringing, and for her outsized role in his early development.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Gupta has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to civic engagement and mentorship. Since 2015, he has served as a technology consultant, tutor, and advisor in computer science and mathematics at Taktse International School, founded by Harvard GSE alumnus Peter Lauenstein. He has formally mentored students at The London School of Economics and Political Science and at his alma mater, IIIT-Delhi, where he served an elected tenure in the Student Council and a nominated tenure in the Student Senate. In 2015, he also served as interim Chief Technology Officer and technology advisor for Edoofa.com, an education-access platform for students in emerging markets. He founded and ran Project Kishmish, in partnership with the Sun Foundation, to deliver nutritious food and holiday cheer to underprivileged children across Delhi, and he worked with the Paras Foundation to organize student visits to the Gharaunda old-age home.
His achievements have been recognized through numerous awards, including the Chancellor's Gold Medal from IIIT-Delhi (2015) and a Certificate of Excellence for Student Mentorship (2015). At Google, Mr. Gupta received cash awards and recognition for outstanding contributions ranging from his immediate teams to 20-percent projects at Google's in-house startup incubator, Area 120. One such recognition, for his pivotal design and strategic contributions that unlocked extended funding for an incubated startup, came from a former Vice President of Product at Tesla. As a student, he received the Best Non-Exchange Member (2012) and Best New Recruit (2012) honors from AIESEC Delhi University and emerged as the winner of his alma mater's flagship technology venture-pitch competition, Prayatna (2012). Earlier, as a secondary-school student, he was awarded the A*STAR India Youth Scholarship by Singapore's Ministry of Education, a highly selective award granted to just seven students from across India in his year, to study at Raffles Institution, one of the world's leading feeder schools to the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge.
Born in Siliguri, West Bengal, Mr. Gupta enjoys spending time with family and friends, performing cover versions of popular songs and playing multiple instruments, cooking and barbecuing, and tinkering with gadgets and technology. A dedicated student of software, policy, and economics, he also builds products and runs econometric and AI models in his spare time for enjoyment. He is dedicated to supporting innovation and to championing driven professionals and founders worldwide, finding fulfillment when those he advises achieve key milestones, such as securing first revenue, completing investment rounds, or reaching professional breakthroughs.
Looking ahead, Mr. Gupta intends to keep widening the scope of his impact. Having progressed from engineering the bits and bytes of software to leading teams, forging partnerships, and building organizations, he now seeks to shape entire companies and, in time, whole industries, broadening his influence through greater profit-and-loss responsibility, supporting innovation-driven companies worldwide, establishing or growing a venture capital fund or venture studio, building diverse teams, and assisting founders globally in leveraging technology for industry and ultimately social advancement at scale. A proud father to one son, Mr. Gupta reflects both personal fulfillment and professional accomplishment throughout his dynamic journey across continents, industries, and disciplines.
