ARROYO GRANDE, CA, June 26, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Scott May has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. May has established a distinguished career in the automotive repair industry, currently serving as the owner and chief executive officer of Arroyo Grande Auto Body in Arroyo Grande, California. Since acquiring the business over five years ago, he has overseen all aspects of shop operations, including managing daily functions, ordering parts and materials, preparing repair estimates, conducting quality-control inspections and performing auto body repair work. In addition to his technical responsibilities, Mr. May manages business administration and customer relations, ensuring the highest standards of service for clients throughout the region.

Among a range of services offered at Arroyo Grande Auto Body, Mr. May and his team specialize in providing collision repair, auto body restoration and automotive painting. The team also works with customers' insurance companies when necessary and provides the most accurate estimates possible to ensure every need is met.

A significant milestone in Mr. May's professional journey was his acquisition of the facility where Arroyo Grande Auto Body operates. Despite limited financial resources at the time, he successfully raised $1.4 million to purchase the building when the previous owner retired and put the property up for sale. This achievement safeguarded the future of Mr. May's business and demonstrated his commitment to its longevity. The process involved navigating complex challenges with two silent partners, whose involvement proved difficult. Ultimately, Mr. May persevered through these obstacles and emerged with full control of both the business and its location.

Before taking ownership of Arroyo Grande Auto Body, Mr. May spent over a decade working under a new owner after returning to the shop following an earlier tenure. His expertise in collision repair, auto body restoration, automotive painting and estimating was honed during this period as he contributed to the shop's reputation for quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Earlier in his career, Mr. May worked for Kraft Nabisco for over 10 years, where he distinguished himself as the company's top salesperson. He chose to leave this role rather than relocate out of state, prioritizing his family's needs while his daughter attended college on a water polo scholarship. Before joining Kraft Nabisco, Mr. May also spent about 10 years at Rivera's Auto Body under its previous ownership, gaining foundational experience in vehicle restoration and repair that would shape his future endeavors.

In addition to his business pursuits, Mr. May is an active member of Moose International and maintains strong ties within his community through sponsorships and volunteer work. As a devoted father of two who coached both his children and grandchildren throughout their youth athletic careers, he continues to support local sports programs at junior high and high schools, as well as youth athletics organizations. Mr. May also serves as a sponsor for 17 Strong while volunteering in various community initiatives.

Throughout his career, Mr. May has developed a reputation as an expert in collision repair estimating, customer relations and auto body services. His dedication to excellence has been recognized through several accolades, including earning the top Google review in his area and receiving the Number One Gold Medal for best shop in San Luis Obispo County. Mr. May's professional achievements have also garnered public attention. Arroyo Grande Auto Body was featured in episodes of the Discovery Channel program "Twin Turbos," which highlighted some of the shop's projects and subsequently included interviews conducted in town.

Mr. May attributes much of his success to the personal relationships he has cultivated within Arroyo Grande and surrounding areas. His longstanding connections with residents, business owners, and members of law enforcement and fire departments have led to significant opportunities for growth and stability within his enterprise.

Looking ahead, Mr. May is focused on ensuring that Arroyo Grande Auto Body remains successful for its employees and is ultimately passed on to those who have contributed to its achievements over the years. He believes strongly in giving back to those who have invested their efforts alongside him and is committed to maintaining a supportive environment where customer relationships remain at the heart of the business.
