Before founding NorthStar Health Inc., Dr. Bhardwaj served as the associate director of the hospitalist program at Alteon Health, Reston Hospital Center, from 2019 to 2020. During this period, she played a pivotal role in managing the hospital's COVID-19 unit, demonstrating her commitment and resilience by working tirelessly on the frontlines. Dr. Bhardwaj's leadership during this challenging time left a profound impact on her.

Between 2014 and 2019, Dr. Bhardwaj served as a hospitalist at Novant Health in Manassas, Virginia, where she refined her expertise in internal medicine. Her earlier roles included positions at UVA Health Prince William Medical Center and HCA Healthcare at EMA, Reston Hospital, from 2011 to 2014, as well as HMG at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia, between 2010 and 2011. These experiences provided Dr. Bhardwaj with a solid foundation in inpatient care and contributed significantly to her professional growth.

Dr. Bhardwaj's academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in biology from the State University of New York at Old Westbury. She then pursued her medical education at Ross University, earning a Doctor of Medicine in general medicine in 2007. Her residency training took place at Monticello Medical Center in the Bronx, New York, where she further developed her clinical skills.

As a member of the American Medical Association and Western Fairfax Advocates for Healthy Aging, Dr. Bhardwaj remains engaged with industry-related organizations that align with her values and goals. In addition to her professional endeavors, she is actively involved in civic organizations and community work. She is a founding member of Partners in Care, an organization dedicated to elder care and community support. As the medical director of The Landing, a senior living community, she offers pro bono medical services to underserved populations. Moreover, Dr. Bhardwaj's role as the vice chair of Reston Hospital Center's medicine department since 2024 further underscores her commitment to supporting patients and advancing medical leadership.

Dr. Bhardwaj is also an accomplished author, having published several works during her early academic and research years. Her contributions to the field extend beyond clinical practice, reflecting her dedication to advancing medical knowledge and improving patient care.
