Nihanth Badugu is an operations executive and entrepreneur whose career sits at the intersection of advanced technology, commercialization and disciplined execution. Since 2025, he has served as chief operating officer of Astrotech Corporation (NASDAQ: ASTC), an Austin-based developer of mass spectrometry technology, where he is responsible for operational strategy and day-to-day execution as one of the company's named officers.

In that role, Mr. Badugu sets the company's annual strategic plan, defines the key performance indicators used to track it and keeps functional leaders aligned against those targets. He directs the engineering team's research and development priorities, manages the channel and distributor network, and serves as the primary liaison to government customers including the Department of Homeland Security, the Transportation Security Administration and the United States Army. His focus is converting research and development concepts into commercial products, a discipline he has applied across security detection, environmental monitoring and emerging space applications.

Concurrently, Mr. Badugu is the founder and chief executive officer of Reevo CRM, a Salesforce consulting firm he launched in Austin. Drawing on his background in profit and loss management, sales, engineering and business development, he built the practice into a Salesforce partner serving clients across multiple industries, with a team of certified consultants and a track record of delivered implementations.

Mr. Badugu's path to operational leadership runs through some of the most demanding programs in his industries. He served as director of the program management office at Astrotech from 2023 to 2025. Before that, as senior program manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific from 2020 to 2023, he led the program management of the company's COVID-19 diagnostic kit launch, coordinating the rapid development and global deployment of testing solutions that reached roughly 90 countries during the pandemic. He counts that effort as the defining achievement of his career. Earlier roles include senior program manager at Parisella, Vincelli Associates Consulting Group from 2017 to 2020, project manager at ERCO Worldwide, and project manager at Intellipharmaceutics from 2011 to 2013.

His work has drawn recognition beyond his companies. He was named to the Business Elite Awards' 40 Under 40 and featured among the Top 100 Magazine innovators. He holds active memberships in the Operators Guild, the Project Management Institute and the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum.

Mr. Badugu earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from York University in Toronto and an associate degree in chemical technology from Seneca Polytechnic. He has since added a project management certificate from the University of Toronto, an executive certificate from the C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston, a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and an ISO 9001 internal auditor credential, among others.

Raised in Toronto, Canada and now based in Austin, Mr. Badugu is now working on advancing space technology by turning research and development into commercial reality, with particular interest in the emerging lunar economy. He is an active mentor to early-stage entrepreneurs at Texas State University. Outside of work, he is a photographer and tennis player who enjoys traveling.
