COLUMBIA, MD, July 16, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Brandon G. Lockett has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Lockett has established a distinguished career in information technology and business leadership, marked by his role as the chief executive officer and chief technologist of Neutron Engineering LLC (DBA NEUTRON) since its founding in 2009. Over the past 17 years, he has guided the company's growth and strategic direction, balancing technical responsibilities and business operations, with proportions shifting as needed.
A seasoned technical leader, Mr. Lockett's expertise encompasses high-performance computing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence-based tooling, systems integration and managed services. Under his leadership, Neutron Engineering has grown to employ 27 professionals, with a growing percentage under the age of 30, reflecting his commitment to fostering opportunities for recent college graduates.
A significant milestone in Mr. Lockett's career was his work with the Howard University Faculty Practice Plan. When Howard University faced a major cybersecurity breach, his team at Neutron Engineering successfully protected the faculty practice plan from compromise. While adjacent entities were impaired, the FPP was confirmed to have zero indicators of compromise. Their efforts ensured clinical operations sustained operations without exposure of patient data. Neutron's efforts safeguarded sensitive patient data and preventing substantial financial repercussions for the institution. This achievement stands out as a testament to Mr. Lockett & Neutron's collective technical acumen and leadership.
In addition to his executive responsibilities, Mr. Lockett collaborates closely with his department chiefs on client projects, such as designing data center architecture for a customer in East Asia. He has prioritized expanding Neutron Engineering's managed services division, investing heavily in business development and forming partnerships with consulting firms to drive growth. The vast majority of the company's revenue during its first ten years of business was generated through word-of-mouth referrals, underscoring its reputation for excellence within the industry.
Prior to founding Neutron Engineering, Mr. Lockett served as a network technician, coordinator and engineer at The Johns Hopkins University and The Johns Hopkins Hospital/University from 1998 to 2007. In these roles, he developed foundational skills in network management and systems engineering that would later inform his entrepreneurial pursuits.
Mr. Lockett's academic background includes a Master of Business Administration in business management from Carey Business School at Johns Hopkins University in 2008 and a Master of Science in Information and Telecommunications Systems from the same school in 2008. His undergraduate studies include a Bachelor of Science in information systems from Carey Business School at Johns Hopkins University in 2005.
Reflecting on his career, Mr. Lockett attributes much of his success to the influence of his grandmother, a dedicated Baptist preacher who instilled in him values of productivity, responsibility and service to others. Her guidance inspired him to pursue excellence not only for personal advancement but also to uplift those around him, a philosophy that continues to guide his approach to hiring and mentorship within Neutron.
Mr. Lockett's passion for technology was sparked during high school while participating in scientific research at Baltimore's Center for Marine Biotechnology Sciences. Though exposed to laboratory work with various DNA-focused research initiatives, his encounter with computing technology revealed a unique potential for rapid innovation, later motivating him to pursue a formal education in Information Technology at Johns Hopkins University. Growing up in East Baltimore served as a powerful motivator rather than a limitation; it reinforced his belief that background does not define one's future and that with hard work, any dream is achievable.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Lockett is deeply committed to civic engagement. He has served as a board member of Associated Black Charities since 2020 and of Historic East Baltimore Community Action Coalition Inc. since 2017. He supports various churches and non-profits in Baltimore by providing substantial discounts for Managed Services (aka IT Department as a Service).
Born in Baltimore, Mr. Lockett values family life alongside his professional commitments. He enjoys playing sports such as basketball and football, traveling and spending quality time with his wife and their four children.
Looking ahead, Mr. Lockett aims to expand Neutron Engineering's footprint in West Africa and East Asia while also broadening domestic operations across the United States through enhanced managed services offerings. He views technological disruption from artificial intelligence as an opportunity for growth rather than a challenge and is focused on scaling the company accordingly while continuing to provide opportunities for emerging talent. Additionally, he intends to delegate more responsibilities within the organization so that younger generations can assume greater leadership roles while ensuring sustained progress for Neutron Engineering's mission.
