CHICAGO, IL, July 16, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Valerie "Val" Williams has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Valerie "Val" Williams believes that the strongest organizations are built by leaders who invest in people first.

Throughout nearly three decades of executive leadership, Ms. Williams has helped organizations navigate complexity, embrace change, and build the capabilities needed to thrive in rapidly evolving industries. Whether leading enterprise transformation initiatives, designing customer experience strategies, or developing future leaders, she has built her career around one enduring principle: lasting success is achieved when people, purpose, and performance are aligned.

Today, Ms. Williams is the Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Principal Consultant of VTS Consulting, LLC, a boutique advisory firm specializing in organizational transformation, customer experience, organizational change management, workforce development, and strategic program delivery. Through her firm, she partners with executive leaders to strengthen organizations from the inside out by aligning strategy, leadership, culture, and execution to deliver sustainable business results.

Ms. Williams' leadership journey began at Motorola, where she spent more than two decades developing expertise in project management, operational excellence, systems implementation, and leadership. Beginning her career on the manufacturing floor before advancing into leadership positions taught her that effective leadership is earned through service, discipline, and the ability to solve complex problems while bringing people along through change.

Those lessons became the foundation of a career spanning telecommunications, financial services, energy, and the utility industry. Ms. Williams held leadership roles with Motorola, BMO Financial Group, Exelon, and Liberty Utilities, leading enterprise initiatives that integrated technology, organizational change, customer experience, communications, and workforce readiness.

Through VTS Consulting, Ms. Williams has continued to advise leading utilities on strategic transformation initiatives, including subcontract engagements with the Utility 2030 Collaborative supporting Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD), as well as organizational change and business transformation initiatives for Southern Company Gas, NiSource; and Con Edison - through West Monroe Partners. These engagements have further established her reputation as a trusted advisor helping utilities modernize operations while strengthening employee readiness, stakeholder alignment, and customer experience.

Throughout her career, Ms. Williams has earned a reputation as a builder. She has consistently been entrusted with creating programs that did not previously exist—establishing governance models, designing organizational frameworks, leading enterprise change initiatives, and helping organizations develop long-term capabilities rather than short-term solutions.

Among her most recognized accomplishments was designing and launching Liberty Utilities' first enterprise Voice of the Customer program, transforming customer feedback into a strategic business capability that informed operational improvements and executive decision-making across the organization. Her work earned the 2024 Woman Who Spark Award from the Utility 2030 Collaborative, recognizing innovation and leadership that advance the utility industry. She later shared her expertise as a speaker at DistribuTECH and the Chartwell Utility Conference, contributing to industry conversations surrounding customer experience, organizational transformation, and leadership.

Committed to developing others as intentionally as she develops organizations, Ms. Williams created the RADIATE Women's Utility Leadership Program to encourage, equip, and connect women pursuing leadership careers within the utility industry. She believes leadership is not defined by individual achievement but by creating opportunities for others to grow, contribute, and lead.

In 2024, Ms. Williams founded VTS Consulting to bring together the disciplines that have defined her career. The firm reflects her belief that successful transformation extends beyond technology implementation or process improvement. Sustainable change occurs when organizations invest equally in leadership, employee engagement, customer experience, and organizational culture. Today, VTS Consulting serves as an extension of that philosophy, helping organizations navigate change while preparing leaders for the future.

Ms. Williams earned her Master of Business Administration from Judson University. She credits her professional journey to God's faithfulness, perseverance, lifelong learning, and the example of the remarkable women who raised her. Their resilience, integrity, and unwavering commitment to family and community shaped the leadership philosophy she carries today: success is measured not simply by what is accomplished, but by the opportunities created for others.

As she enters the next chapter of her career, Ms. Williams is expanding her impact beyond consulting through board service, executive advising, mentoring, and thought leadership. She is actively seeking opportunities to serve on nonprofit and corporate boards where she can contribute her expertise in governance, organizational transformation, customer experience, and strategic leadership while helping organizations strengthen their long-term impact.

Ms. Williams is also authoring her first book, reflecting on the lessons of resilience, faith, leadership, and transformation that have shaped both her personal journey and professional life.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Ms. Williams is deeply committed to serving others through mentorship and community engagement. Her personal initiative, Pay It Forward Friday, reflects her belief that leadership is demonstrated through consistent acts of generosity, encouragement, and service. Whether mentoring emerging professionals, supporting local organizations, or extending kindness to someone in need, she believes lasting impact begins with intentionally investing in people.

Ms. Williams is the proud mother of two adult children, Trey and Sarai, who continue to inspire her commitment to building a legacy grounded in faith, resilience, entrepreneurship, and service. She believes her greatest accomplishments will ultimately be measured not only by the organizations she has helped transform, but by the lives she has positively influenced and the opportunities she has created for future generations.

For Val Williams, leadership has never been about building a career. It has always been about building people, strengthening organizations, and creating a legacy of service that empowers others long after the work is complete.
