Prior to joining INTERCERT, Mr. Sharma was the director of commercial management system certification as a self-employed professional in Delhi, India, which he established in 2001 and excelled in for 20 years. During this period, he developed his expertise in handling group companies and conducting audits and assessments in compliance frameworks. His strict approach to career progression is reflected in his long-term commitment to only a selected few organizations throughout his professional journey of nearly 30 years.

From 2010 to 2014, Mr. Sharma also served as a business partner with Green Globe Certification, where he contributed to certification initiatives in the sustainable tourism sector. He began his career as a team manager at YokeSoft Technologies in Delhi from 1999 to 2001, during which he gained foundational leadership experience in technology management that he continues to employ in his work at INTERCERT today.

Alongside his primary roles, Mr. Sharma's influence is equally evident through his active memberships in several industry-related organizations. He is affiliated with HITRUST Services, the Auditor Group of both ISO and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF), and Exemplar Global (formerly known as RABQSA International).

Hailing from an equally accomplished academic background, Mr. Sharma holds a Master Degree in Business Administration from the ICFAI Business School.

He was certified as an ISO 9001 lead auditor for quality certification and as an ISO 27001 lead auditor for information security certification, both by Exemplar Global in 2016.
