CHESTERFIELD, VA, August 11, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Louis Franceschini has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Franceschini's distinguished career in the insurance industry spans more than five decades, marked by a series of leadership roles and transformative achievements. Since 2006, he has served as vice president of underwriting at Brown & Brown, where he manages branch operations, oversees underwriting decisions, builds and leads teams, manages revenue and independent producers, stabilizes organizational operations and implements team collaboration strategies. His expertise in casualty insurance underwriting and operations has contributed to the company's ongoing success.
Additionally, since 2002, Mr. Franceschini has served as vice president of underwriting at Apex Insurance Services. In this capacity, he applies his extensive knowledge to guide the organization's underwriting practices and operational strategies. From 2001 to 2002, he was program manager at NIP Group in Chicago, Illinois, where he further honed his skills in program oversight and management.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Franceschini served as branch president at Kemper Corporation in the Greater Chicago Area from 2000 to 2001 after working as underwriting director at Kemper Corporation from 1999 to 2000. Between 1997 and 1999, he was executive vice president at CNA in Chicago, Illinois. His tenure with CNA also included serving as vice president and branch president in New Jersey from 1987 to 1993.
Among his most notable accomplishments was his leadership of a struggling New Jersey branch office that had experienced seven different branch managers in eight years and a 48 percent employee turnover rate. Upon taking charge, Mr. Franceschini addressed the crisis directly by engaging the staff in honest dialogue about their situation and challenging them to collaborate on solutions. Under his guidance for more than five years, the branch overcame its challenges and earned recognition as branch office of the year — a testament to his ability to inspire collective achievement even under difficult circumstances.
Mr. Franceschini began his professional journey with The Hartford immediately after high school in 1967 as a commercial rater. He calculated premiums manually for prospective clients across all business classes and segments while working to pay for his college tuition. After two years, he was promoted to underwriter despite having limited experience at that stage. The Hartford provided him with three weeks of intensive training at its Connecticut facility, where he learned coverage interpretation, claims risk assessment and loss control. This foundational experience shaped his deep understanding of insurance fundamentals and established his reputation for designing coverages tailored to specific exposures.
His academic background includes earning a bachelor's degree in business administration and management from Saint Peter's University in Jersey City, New Jersey, in 1973. Mr. Franceschini credits his perseverance and collaborative spirit as key factors in his success. He believes that embracing challenges and encouraging team-driven solutions have been central to his achievements throughout his career.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Franceschini has demonstrated a commitment to civic engagement through various charitable activities. He has served as a blood ambassador and a disaster action team responder for the American Red Cross. His philanthropic efforts include supporting organizations such as the Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the American Cancer Institute and the Alzheimer's Association.
His contributions have been recognized with awards including branch office of the year from CNA and branch manager recognition from CNA.
A dedicated family man, Mr. Franceschini is the father of two daughters — one residing in New Jersey and the other in Virginia Beach — and the grandfather of two grandsons. His eldest grandson is an accomplished young man who has received three presidential awards for volunteer work and community service while aspiring to become an engineer; his younger grandson is eleven years old. Since 2005, Mr. Franceschini has made Chesterfield, Virginia his home after previously living in New Jersey and spending thirteen years in Chicago. He values a modest lifestyle and has maintained a debt-free status regarding his home and vehicles.
In addition to enjoying golf and exercising during his leisure time, Mr. Franceschini looks forward to writing a book about his life and professional journey for his grandchildren so they may understand his legacy. He intends to contribute further through consulting work focused on process management, particularly on fixing unprofitable books of business and teaching entry-level personnel the basics of underwriting decision-making. On a personal note, he hopes to be present for significant milestones in his grandsons' lives as they pursue their educational and professional goals.
Mr. Franceschini remains committed to sharing insights gained over decades of experience with organizations seeking fresh perspectives from seasoned professionals outside the workforce, helping them avoid stagnation by fostering continuous improvement and operational excellence.
