MILLSTONE TOWNSHIP, NJ, August 12, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Pro-Stump Tree Service Inc. is marking nearly four decades of continuous family ownership in Central New Jersey. Glenn Donnelly founded the company in Millstone Township in 1987 after a career with the New Jersey State Police, beginning with a pickup truck, a chainsaw and no employees.

The company now operates two grapple saw cranes, a 40-ton crane, bucket trucks and three stump grinders, and has completed more than 5,000 jobs across Monmouth, Ocean, Burlington and Mercer counties. Cody Donnelly, Glenn's son, is now co-owner and shares day-to-day operations.

"I brought two things with me from the State Police," said Glenn Donnelly, founder of Pro-Stump Tree Service. "You show up when you say you will, and you never cut corners. Almost forty years later, most of our work still comes from a neighbor telling a neighbor."

The work has ranged from storm response at 2 a.m. to crane-assisted removals over houses and power lines. In 2011, Donnelly climbed to bring a black bear safely down from a tree in Central New Jersey after other responders declined the call.

"Nothing about how we work is changing," said Cody Donnelly, co-owner. "The name on the truck is the same name on our mailbox. That is the standard we are held to."
