CHICAGO, IL, August 13, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- National bestselling author William Elliott Hazelgrove will appear live on WGN-TV Chicago on Friday, August 14, at approximately 8:14 a.m. Central Time to discuss his forthcoming narrative nonfiction book, The Camp Mystic Flood: A Story of Tragedy and Heroism due to be released July 8 2027.

Hazelgrove traveled to the Texas Hill Country to research the catastrophic July 4, 2025 flood, interviewing people in the affected communities and retracing the path of the Guadalupe River disaster. His forthcoming book reconstructs the terrifying hours of the flood and tells the stories of campers, counselors, families, first responders, and residents caught in one of the deadliest American flooding disasters in recent history.

During the WGN-TV interview, Hazelgrove will discuss the extraordinary individual stories of survival and heroism he uncovered during his research, as well as the crucial timeline of the disaster and the unanswered questions surrounding what happened as the Guadalupe River rose with devastating speed.
