Earlier, he served as Vice President of Information Technology at Internet Brands, where he continued to modernize enterprise technology and support business growth through practical, scalable solutions. In 2021, he also served as a technical advisor to LIQUIDSports, and in 2020 he founded Flaming Arrow Technology, reflecting his continued interest in helping organizations navigate emerging technologies and business transformation.
From 2015 to 2020, Dr. Vafaeisefat held leadership positions at FanDuel, first as Senior Director and later as Vice President of Information Technology. During a period of rapid expansion following the legalization of sports betting across multiple states, he played an important role in building the technology infrastructure that supported new sportsbook operations while navigating complex regulatory requirements. He considers this work one of the defining experiences of his career because of both its scale and the speed at which the organization was able to expand.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Vafaeisefat served as Director of Infrastructure and Network Systems at Boingo Wireless, Chief Technology Officer at Globalhood, and Director and Enterprise Architect at EarthLink, where he spent more than a decade helping shape large-scale enterprise systems. He also held leadership positions at Xerox before beginning his professional career as a research assistant professor of theoretical high-energy physics at the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Dr. Vafaeisefat earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Theoretical High-Energy and Quantum Field Theory from the University of Connecticut after completing both his bachelor's degree at Newcastle University and his master's degree at the University of Connecticut. He later completed executive studies in technology and product strategy through the MIT Sloan School of Management, further strengthening the business perspective that has shaped his leadership throughout his career.
Although his academic background is in theoretical physics, Dr. Vafaeisefat has always viewed technology as a means rather than an end.
