Mr. Wolin's professional journey spans two decades, marked by a steady progression through the service and insurance industries. Since 2016 he has served as an agent and as an owner of Cal Sierra Insurance agency, in Fresno Ca. In this capacity Mr. Wolin manages his own portfolio while orchestrating meetings, collaborating with carrier representatives, and recruiting new agents. His leadership has been instrumental in leading his office to AGA's (a top field marketing organization) top agency award for northern California. While also earning a Platinum Eagle award for his own personal book of business and success with his clients. It's these distinctions that reflect his commitment to compliance and service to those around him.
In addition to being an agent and owner Mr. Wolin currently is serving his 2nd term as the Northern California Medicare Chair for the California Association of Health Insurance Professionals. One of his current projects is to bring a Medicare Senior Summit to the Central Valley. Where he is now recruiting speakers, working with Insurance carriers, and networks for Sponsorships.
Prior to his current role. Greg served as an agent with Bankers life insurance back in 2008 to 2010. Moving on to Life Markets in Clovis CA in late 2010, maintaining a solid reputation in Medicare and Life products. Then in 2011 Greg was introduced to Applied General Agency where his presentation skills really took off as he grew in the business doing seminars for Medicare Beneficiaries and their families. It was at this point that Greg realized how much he enjoys helping people and teaching newer agents. It was these years where This passion to teach and serve developed his approach to building his own agency.
Greg Wolin has since expanded his business, Cal Sierra Insurance, in the last 15 years and now supports 60+ licensed insurance agents.
This experience has guided him to advocate for the role and regulations surrounding licensed insurance agents and the greater insurance industry through membership in California Agents and Health Insurance Professionals (CAHIP) and National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals (NABIP).
Mr. Wolin's early career was rooted in the service sector. He worked as a bartender at Pardini's from 1993 to 2022 where he learned firsthand the importance of communication, customer service and the importance of allowing people the independence to do their job without interference, under the leadership of Jim Pardini. Simultaneously, he spent over a decade at Coca-Cola Enterprises in Fresno from 1994-2005. Starting out as a merchandiser responsible for stocking shelves and building displays. He advanced to account manager role, overseeing orders and liaising with store managers across diverse retail environments. These formative experiences instilled in him a deep appreciation for hard work and adaptability. Qualities that continue to inform his leadership style.
Throughout his career Mr. Wolin his career Mr. Wolin has maintained active involvement in industry organizations. He is a member of the National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals and serves as the Medicare chair for Northern California within CAHIP. His dedication to professional development is further evidenced by numerous accolades including the top producer award from Aetna, Platinum Eagle level producer status and membership in the Presidents Council of NABIP.
Mr. Wolin's educational background includes an Associate of Arts degree in biochemical engineering from Diablo Valley College earned in 1989. The analytical skills acquired during his studies have contributed to his success in navigating regulatory complexities and developing effective business strategies. He credits much of his growth to influential mentors such as Susan Hatch and Patrick Rodriguez-the latter imparting the philosophy that genuine assistance is integral to successful sales-as well as Jim Pardini's example of empowering team members through trust and encouragement.
Civic Engagement has also played a role as Mr. Wolin's life, he previously volunteered with the county food bank reflecting a longstanding commitment to community service that began during his formative years, when he worked various roles in restaurants and hospitality.
Born in Oakland, Mr. Wolin values family deeply. He shares his life with Margarita Gonzalez with whom he has built a partnership spanning over a decade and 2 years of marriage. Together they have 5 daughters and 3 sons. Notably 2 daughters have pursued careers in the rocket industry. He jokes his daughter put Capt. Kirk into space.
Outside of his professional pursuits Mr. Wolin enjoys gardening, caring for orchids and spending time with pets. He is dedicated to expanding his agency while continuing to make a positive impact on other lives by onboarding new agents and helping them achieve their goals within the industry.
