OAKLAND, MD, August 21, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Devin G. Callis has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Callis has established a distinguished presence in the hospitality and business sectors of Oakland, Maryland, marked by his entrepreneurial drive and commitment to community enrichment. As owner of 3rd Street Diner since 2022, he manages daily operations across multiple locations, oversees restaurant and motel staff, and is actively involved in all aspects of the business, from cooking and washing dishes to handling customer service. Under his leadership, 3rd Street Diner has garnered significant recognition, including a February 2026 appearance on America's Best Restaurant road show, where several signature dishes were highlighted and Mr. Callis participated in an interview segment. The restaurant has also earned accolades, including Best Lunch, Best Breakfast, and Best Overall Restaurant Spot, in the Best of Garrett County awards presented by WVNews.

In addition to his work with 3rd Street Diner, Mr. Callis has owned Oak Mar Motel and Oakland Motel since 2022. Both establishments have achieved notable success under his direction, maintaining approximately 94 percent occupancy year-round and earning the title of Greatest Hotel Motel three times in WVNews' Best of Garrett County awards. These accomplishments reflect his dedication to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Since 2020, Mr. Callis has also served as owner of Callis Enterprise LLC, further diversifying his business interests within the local economy. His achievements as a young entrepreneur were recognized in 2025 when he received the Emerging Entrepreneur Award from his local community. This distinction holds particular significance given his age and status as one of the area's youngest business owners.

Prior to his ventures in hospitality and business ownership, Mr. Callis built a substantial career with DIRECTV. He began as an installer technician before advancing to general manager of the Pittsburgh office, a role he held for 13 years. Despite the financial stability this position provided, Mr. Callis ultimately chose to leave corporate life due to the demands of a lengthy daily commute and a desire to remain close to his family and community roots in Oakland.

Throughout his professional journey, Mr. Callis has remained actively involved with industry organizations such as the Garrett County Heritage Board and the Chamber of Commerce. These affiliations have enabled him to contribute to local economic development while fostering valuable partnerships within the region.

Mr. Callis attributes his success to a relentless work ethic, steadfast faith and an unwavering commitment to authenticity in both personal interactions and business dealings. He emphasizes perseverance through adversity and believes that maintaining a positive mindset is essential for overcoming obstacles and achieving long-term goals.

His civic engagement extends beyond business endeavors. Mr. Callis is deeply committed to supporting charitable causes in Garrett County, most notably through fundraising for Cindy's Fund—a local organization dedicated to providing financial assistance to cancer patients —ensuring that all proceeds directly benefit families in the community. His broad participation in civic organizations underscores a lifelong dedication to service.

Born and raised in Oakland as an only child, Mr. Callis credits his independent nature and self-reliance to his upbringing. He met his wife, Anna, during high school, and together they have built a family with four children: Bentley, Emmett, Easton and Macy. The couple's shared vision has been instrumental in establishing multiple successful ventures while remaining rooted in their hometown.

Looking ahead, Mr. Callis is committed to being a valuable asset to his community by supporting those in need and collaborating with other businesses for mutual growth. He prioritizes building strong partnerships with local vendors—such as working closely with area bakers—to foster sustainable economic development within rural settings.

Mr. Callis' career reflects not only entrepreneurial achievement but also a profound sense of responsibility to uplift others and strengthen the fabric of his community through professional excellence and civic engagement.
