HOUSTON, TX, August 21, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mariyam Mulla Pybus has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Pybus has established a distinguished career spanning three decades in the industrial and medical gases sector, marked by progressive leadership roles and a commitment to innovation and inclusion. In her current position she works in the World Business Line as the bulk pricing and profitability director for Air Liquide. In this capacity, Ms. Pybus is responsible for driving strategic pricing initiatives and collaborates with global teams across multiple geographies identifying pricing process improvements and cross-entity collaborations.

Prior to her current role, Ms. Pybus was senior director of atmospheric gases for Air Liquide and her responsibilities covered the U.S. and later included Canada. In this role she provided tactical support for the operations and supply chain teams and worked to develop a strategic roadmap to ensure that the appropriate investment opportunities were developed to ensure continuity of supply to meet future growth trends of liquid nitrogen, liquid oxygen and liquid argon. One of her notable accomplishments was her planning support to ensure product supply of medical gases during the COVID crisis. Air Liquide played a crucial role to ensure continuity of supply of medical gas, specifically medical oxygen, due to the surge in demand as Covid cases around the nation increased.

In her position as director of marketing and development at Air Liquide, she led critical initiatives within the healthcare division, most notably spearheading the launch of a medical oxygen cylinder equipped with a digital gauge in the United States market. This innovative product, designed to assist patients requiring mobile oxygen provides vital notifications to prevent unexpected depletion, had previously been introduced in Europe. Ms. Pybus navigated production challenges and developed an effective marketing and sales strategy that expanded the product's reach. Her leadership on this project underscored her dedication to enhancing patient care and safety.

Between 2010 and 2015, she served as energy operations and financial manager, responsible for managing the energy portfolio of electricity and natural gas while developing energy optimization strategies to drive efficiencies and improve financial performance. Her earlier roles include a diverse number of positions from managing cogen maintenance activities, focusing on commercial strategies for energy-related projects, securing reliable sources of carbon dioxide for industrial applications, optimizing service delivery models for clients across diverse industries and building strong client relationships and delivering tailored solutions. She began her career at Air Liquide as a plant engineer in 1996, where she applied her technical knowledge to improve plant operations.

Throughout her career, Ms. Pybus has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to advancing women in a traditionally male-dominated industry. She served a term as president of the Air Liquide Women's Initiative Network (ALWIN) and has actively participated in the Women's Energy Network in Houston. In addition to her professional affiliations, she and her like minded colleagues founded the Women Empower Women Initiative Network (WeWin) at Airgas (a division of Air Liquide) in 2020 to further support female professionals.

Ms. Pybus's academic background has been foundational to her success. Born in Nairobi, Kenya, Ms. Pybus grew up in the United Kingdom before immigrating to the United States in 1990 to pursue higher education at Eastern Montana College. She graduated from Montana State University Billings with a Bachelor of Science in biology in 1993. Initially uncertain about her career path, she considered medicine before a friend encouraged her to explore engineering. After undertaking chemical engineering coursework, she found the field rewarding and graduated from Montana State University-Bozeman with a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering in 1996. After starting her first job at Air Liquide she decided to pursue her MBA and earned a Master of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Dallas in 2000, a decision that proved transformative for her professional journey.

She credits much of her success to the opportunities provided by colleagues, friends and family members who have supported her throughout her career. Ms. Pybus emphasizes that every aspect of her life—including strong personal relationships—has influenced her development as a leader. She maintains close ties with her three older brothers, who reside in the United Kingdom, and travels there regularly with her family. She married her first husband in Montana and even though they are now divorced maintains a very strong tie to him and his family in Montana.

Ms. Pybus met her second husband at a friend's house party in Houston; they have been married for 20 years and are proud parents of five children—including two sets of fraternal twins—ranging in age from 7 to 17. Her eldest daughter is preparing for university, while her 13-year-old son and daughter are navigating their teenage years; her 7-year-old twin daughters bring joy and energy to their home life. All five children are active participants in taekwondo; the three older children are 1st degree black belts and the 2 little girls are on track to become black belts next year. When their second set of twins were born, Ms. Pybus's husband left his career to manage their household so she could pursue her career. Ms. Pybus is very proud of her husband and children. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, cooking, painting, writing, traveling and spending time with family. She and her husband also hold a patent for a word game that they designed together for their eldest daughter when she was younger.

Her civic engagement includes involvement with Habitat for Humanity, March of Dimes and Earth Day community events. She has received recognition, including an award for building Synergies through Strategic partnerships, and becoming a technical expert on Air Liquide's technical career ladder.

Looking ahead, Ms. Pybus intends to apply her skills and experience within the nonprofit sector with a focus on lung cancer advocacy and research following her own diagnosis with stage four lung cancer in early 2025. She is exploring opportunities with organizations dedicated to lung cancer awareness, support and research as she seeks new ways to contribute meaningfully beyond her corporate achievements.
