WICHITA, KS, August 24, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Trisha Chege has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Marked by an unwavering commitment to geriatric care, patient integrity and clinical leadership, Ms. Chege's distinguished career in nursing spans nearly three decades. Since 2015, she has served as the director of nursing at Ascension Living Via Christi Village Ridge in Wichita, Kansas, where she oversees all clinical operations and patient care activities for the leading rehabilitation and long-term care community.

In her capacity for more than 10 years, Ms. Chege manages a team of approximately 100 associates, including nurse managers, a quality director and a registered nurse (RN) educator. She is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of patient care, managing acute conditions, reporting clinical concerns to regulatory authorities such as the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services, and maintaining full compliance with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services requirements. Her role also includes reviewing patient admissions from area hospitals, facilitating care plan meetings and guiding families through critical end-of-life conversations with empathy and compassion.

Ms. Chege has held the role of registered nurse since 2000, continually developing her expertise in skilled rehabilitation and long-term care management, state and federal regulatory compliance, end-of-life and family care planning, and antipsychotic medication management for older adults. Her proficiency in these areas has seen her recognized with invitations to speak and present at professional conferences, including a presentation on antipsychotic use in geriatric populations at a prominent LeadingAge event.

Earlier in her career, from 1998 to 2000, Ms. Chege worked as a certified nursing assistant while attending college — a foundational experience that provided her with firsthand insight into patient needs and the importance of kindhearted care.

Throughout her tenure with Ascension, Ms. Chege has demonstrated exceptional leadership within the organization. She is especially proud of achieving a zero-deficiency survey during her time as director of nursing at Ascension Senior Living McLean, where she oversaw both assisted living and long-term care services. This accomplishment reflected not only full regulatory compliance but also the positive culture she fostered among the residents and staff. Under her direction, the community received deficiency-free results across assisted living, skilled long-term care and life safety surveys within the same year.

Extending her efforts beyond daily clinical responsibilities, Ms. Chege actively works to change perceptions of nursing home care by recruiting new nurses from local schools and emphasizing the professionalism and dedication of her team. Her recruitment initiatives have allowed her community to operate without outside staffing agencies for over 18 months — a testament to her ability to build a strong internal culture focused on quality care.

Hailing from an equally accomplished academic journey, Ms. Chege began her higher education by completing certified nursing assistant training in 1998. She went on to earn the licensed practical nurse credential from Flint Hills Technical College two years later, followed by an Associate of Applied Science from the same institution. Dedicated to the ideals of continuous learning, she completed registered nurse education at Butler Community College in 2015.

Reflecting on her storied journey to date, Ms. Chege attributes much of her professional success to consistently putting residents first and advocating for improvements that benefit those living within her community. Her guiding motivation is ensuring that all residents receive holistic care that addresses both their psychosocial well-being and physical health needs — a philosophy shaped by her personal experiences of supporting family members through transitions in senior living.

Ms. Chege's expertise is further recognized through her membership on the advocacy board for LeadingAge as well as her selection as the sole senior living division representative for Ascension's Leaders of Leaders Program. In honor of her outstanding dedication to patient care and serving families in need, she was spotlighted in Splurge Magazine in 2025 and has been ranked as Ascension's top director of nursing for several consecutive years.

On a personal level, Ms. Chege has been happily married to her spouse Charles for nearly a decade; together they are raising three children, including a son with special needs whose daily care they share between them. She also recently welcomed her first grandchild — a baby girl born in February 2026 — with whom she enjoys spending time alongside camping trips and lake outings with her family.

Looking toward the future, Ms. Chege aspires to achieve a fully deficiency-free survey at her current community while continuing to prioritize resident-centered care without reliance on outside staffing agencies. She is interested in expanding into education or advocacy within the senior living sector as well as training future nursing staff — goals that may eventually lead her to pursue further academic credentials such as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Despite receiving opportunities for advancement at regional or corporate levels within Ascension, she remains dedicated to roles that allow her to balance her professional responsibilities with her family life while making a direct impact on patient care and staff development.

Ms. Chege's life and legacy are defined by steadfast advocacy for seniors, commitment to excellence in geriatric nursing practice, and the enduring belief that every resident deserves dignity and compassion throughout their journey in long-term care settings.
