MADISON, OH, August 25, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Joanie Keehn has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Marked by over two decades of experience and leadership in her industry, Mrs. Keehn has established herself as a prominent licensed health insurance agent. Since 2014, she has served as an independent agent with HealthMarkets, where she strives to help families and those in senior care protect their health and financial well-being.
Overseeing all operations within the company, Mrs. Keehn's approach to business is rooted in faith-based principles, prioritizing service over sales and placing the needs of her employees and clients above her own. She often undertakes work that does not yield direct compensation, guided by the belief that caring for others will be rewarded in turn. This philosophy shapes her agency's culture, encouraging authenticity and personal growth among her team.
Beyond her agency, Mrs. Keehn extends her commitment to advocacy by regularly traveling to Washington and visiting the United States House of Representatives multiple times each year to meet with legislators. Recognized for her deep industry knowledge and dedication to protecting consumers, she discusses healthcare policy and works to improve systems for consumers both in Ohio and across the nation. Her expertise encompasses insurance for individuals outside employer plans, small business owners seeking coverage for themselves and their employees, and Medicare solutions.
In addition to her primary position at HealthMarkets, Mrs. Keehn has owned Health Insurance 4 You since 2014, further demonstrating her entrepreneurial spirit within the insurance sector. From 2010 to 2014, she worked as a broker sales consultant with Aetna after initially joining the company as a field sales representative in 2009. Earlier in her career, she gained essential leadership experience as managing partner of the individual and Medicare division at Right Track Benefits from 2005 to 2009.
Alongside her primary roles, Mrs. Keehn has contributed significantly to multiple professional organizations. She has held leadership positions with the National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals Northeast Ohio — serving as past president from 2016 to 2018 and 2025 to 2026 — and has remained active as legislative chair. Additionally, while battling an illness of her own for ten years, she became a wellness advocate with doTERRA International LLC in 2017 to promote the essential oils and wellness enterprise that significantly impacted her journey. Her memberships also include her local chamber of commerce and the National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals (NABIP).
Hailing from an equally accomplished academic background, Mrs. Keehn earned a Bachelor of Science in organizational leadership from Cleveland State University in 2016, an Associate of Arts in communications from Lakeland Community College in 2006 and an Associate of Office Administration from Bradford in 1997.
Reflecting on her storied journey to date, Mrs. Keehn credits much of her development to having supportive mentors, her husband's encouragement, and a willingness to seek guidance through business coaching and counseling when needed. She began working during high school, assisting with bookkeeping and scheduling for her family's home business before pursuing studies in office administration and business management. Early internships shaped her understanding of business operations. At the same time, her work experience in manufacturing management taught her to balance professional demands with personal life — a lesson that influenced her transition into insurance after she started a family of her own.
Also passionate about making a difference through civic-minded contributions, Mrs. Keehn has been a meal server at St. James Episcopal Church, involved with Cornerstone Friends Church in humanitarian relief efforts and as a women's ministry leader. Her work extends to partnering with Crossroads as Connections Coordinator overseeing lead usher and greeters, volunteering at church events, and participating on the board of zoning appeals for her local community.
Mrs. Keehn has been widely recognized for her community impact as both a business owner and health insurance agent over the years. Her organization was named Women's Business of the Year by the Gazette newspaper. She has been personally recognized by her local chamber of commerce and earned a legislative award from NABIP for outstanding performance at HealthMarkets after achieving Top 175 status for eight years and ranking 47th nationally in sales. Also honored for her achievements earlier in her journey, she was previously selected for inclusion in Who's Who in American High School Students.
Happily married and a proud mother, Mrs. Keehn enjoys spending time outdoors and values the moments she shares with her grandchildren on their farm. For five years, she has managed a farm where cows, a pony, a donkey, goats, chickens, micro hogs and 30 acres of hay are tended before or after her office hours each day. The farm is also a place where her six-year-old granddaughter has learned about animal care by helping to hatch chickens or witnessing animal births alongside the other grandchildren, who cherish time spent there.
Looking to the future, Mrs. Keehn is eager to grow HealthMarkets by expanding her team to serve more people while dedicating additional energy to Find Your Piece of Peace, a faith-based motivational company focused on personal spiritual development. Her ultimate aim is to streamline her current commitments to help individuals and families follow their own dreams.
