His agency is ranked 23rd out of more than 8,500 nationally, and he is recognized in the top 1 percent of Farmers Insurance agents as a member of the Farmers Insurance President's Council. Prior to his current role, he was the Director of Sales and Marketing at CareActive, where he led strategic initiatives in sales and marketing. From 2011 to 2013, he held the position of Executive Vice President of Sales at Zydeco Studios, where he played a key role in driving business growth and expanding market presence.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Slavin was Vice President of Sales for Tiger Electronics from 1991 to 1997 after four years as a Territory Sales Supervisor for M&M/Mars in Chicago. His career also includes two years as an executive producer in the Rap and Hip-Hop music business. Although this venture resulted in financial loss, he gained valuable experience and memorable stories that have contributed to his broader perspective on business and risk-taking.
Academically, Mr. Slavin's background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, both earned at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb in 1985. He earned his diploma from Niles North High School in Skokie, IL, in 1981 and pursued a Master of Business Administration to further enhance his knowledge. Additionally, he holds Property, Auto, Life, and Health Insurance certifications for Illinois, California, Wisconsin, Idaho, Florida, and Michigan. Dedication, hard work and what he describes as "stick-to-itiveness" have been central to Mr. Slavin's success throughout his career. This philosophy — consistently rising each day to put in effort — has guided him through transitions from consumer products executive sales roles to entrepreneurship in the insurance industry. After spending much of his career helping grow organizations from early stages within the toy industry and household storage sectors, he sought to build something independently once family obligations allowed him greater flexibility.
Born in Chicago, Brad has built a fulfilling personal life alongside his professional accomplishments. For more than fifteen years, he has shared a committed partnership that both he and his partner, Beth, consider equivalent to a marriage. Together, they have blended their families, each bringing two adult children into their relationship. Their family continues to grow with multiple grandchildren and another expected soon. Outside of work, Mr. Slavin enjoys traveling, collecting wine, watches and cars, boating and fine dining experiences shared with loved ones. He is also engaged in civic work, serving as a board member for the JULIA Foundation since 2015 and as an Alderman on the Highwood City Council from 2013 to 2026. He is a former Board Member of the Skokie Illinois Chamber of Commerce and Former President of the Celebrate Highwood Charity organization.
Looking ahead, Mr. Slavin intends to continue growing and successfully operating his agency while preparing for its long-term future. As part of that vision, he is mentoring his son, Matthew, who has served as Executive Vice President and part owner of the agency for more than six years. His son, Matthew, has established himself as a leading Farmers Insurance agent as well, and Mr. Slavin expects Matthew to continue to grow into his role and assume increasing leadership responsibilities over time.
