Ms. Kiernan's distinguished career reflects a remarkable journey across several professional fields, each marked by significant milestones and contributions. Since 2016, she has served as the founder and principal of Kiernan Consulting Group LLC in Montclair, New Jersey, and the New York metropolitan area. In this capacity, she conducts one-on-one and team sessions with clients at all organizational levels. Initially focusing on lawyers and legal practice when she started her business, her coaching practice has expanded to serve all types of professionals from a significant range of industries from Fortune 500 companies to nonprofits and startups.

In addition to her leadership at Kiernan Consulting Group LLC, Ms. Kiernan has held concurrent roles as a senior leadership and career transition coach at Partners International in the New York City metropolitan area since 2017 and as a senior executive, leadership, team and career coach at Culturupt in New York and New Jersey since 2021. Her expertise also extends to her current position as leadership coach for both teams and individuals at Keep Company in New York City, a role she began in 2026. Her dedication has also been recognized by Diversity Lab, which named her one of the best lawyer coaches.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Kiernan was a strategy, innovation and litigation business development manager at Lowenstein Sandler LLP in Roseland, New Jersey, from 2012 to 2016. She previously served as a practice development manager for health care and life sciences at Ropes & Gray LLP in Boston from 2006 to 2010 after one year practicing law as an associate at Todd & Weld LLP, two years as a health care associate at Milberg Weiss and three years as a health care associate at Sedgwick.

Ms. Kiernan's early professional experience includes serving as a senior staff nurse at New York University – Langone in the New York City metropolitan area from 1994 to 1997. Her background in nursing deeply influenced her commitment to care and equity, particularly during the HIV epidemic, when she worked as an AIDS nurse.

Among Ms. Kiernan's most significant achievements is her service during the September 11 attacks. She volunteered as a first-responder nurse at Stuyvesant High School when it was established as a triage center for several days after the collapse of the World Trade Center and up to the time federal authorities took over operations. She also served as a volunteer lawyer for the September 11 Victim Compensation Fund, successfully securing compensation for the families of two firefighters who lost their lives at the World Trade Center.

Academically, Ms. Kiernan's foundation includes earning a Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School in Massachusetts in 2000 after graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan in 1994. To further enhance her effectiveness as a coach, she has earned several professional certifications, including Professional Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation and certified team performance coach through Team Coaching International. She has also completed additional training in leadership and career management coaching.

Reflecting on her career, Ms. Kiernan credits her success to integrity, hard work and consistently achieving results for those she serves. Her transition into coaching was inspired by extensive leadership training received while working as a business manager at Ropes & Gray LLP, which revealed her passion for talent development.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Ms. Kiernan is actively engaged with civic-minded organizations. She has been a foster parent with Rescue Haven Foundation since 2021 and volunteers with Rescue Dogs Rock NYC as a home visit, foster and transport volunteer since 2018. She also volunteered with Labs4rescue Inc. and serves on the board of overseers for the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Born in Brooklyn, Ms. Kiernan prioritizes spending time with her two children and enjoys reading, traveling, skiing, practicing yoga, learning about new cultures and the arts and dancing in her free time. Looking ahead, she plans to launch a podcast focused on leadership development within the legal industry for lawyers. As her children prepare for college, she anticipates scaling up her business endeavors, increasing community involvement, expanding speaking engagements and writing more extensively while reaching broader audiences with her coaching expertise. Additionally, she is pursuing certification as an adult ADHD coach to better support neurodiverse clients.
