WAILUKU, HI, September 08, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mark D. Reck has been recognized for achievement in legal services.

Mr. Reck's professional journey is distinguished by a steady progression through the Hawai'i legal field, culminating in his current role as a partner at Apo, Reck & Kusachi on the Island of Maui. Since 2023, he has overseen office operations, worked directly with clients and ensured that the firm serves both local residents and tourists from the continental United States. The practice is recognized for its focus on personal injury law, an area in which he has developed significant expertise. Though his tenure counts many milestones, he is particularly proud of building the law practice into its current form and growing its reputation for integrity and genuine connection.

Prior to becoming a partner, Mr. Reck became affiliated with the Law Offices of Jan K. Apo beginning in 2010. Over the course of his tenure, he advanced from attorney to partner, ultimately joining colleagues in the creation of the current firm. Recognized for his exemplary service and leadership, he was selected for inclusion in The National Trial Lawyers in 2026 and was named among the Top American Lawyers Under 40 in 2014.

Before entering the legal profession, Mr. Reck gained valuable experience in the service industry. His background includes roles as a bartender and diving instructor, as well as positions within the hotel sector. These early experiences provided him with practical skills and a broad perspective that have informed his approach to client service and office management ever since.

Mr. Reck's academic credentials are extensive and reflect his commitment to interdisciplinary learning. He earned a Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law in 2008, concurrently completing a Master of Business Administration at Stetson that same year. His undergraduate studies were completed at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2005, where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, also cum laude. He further distinguished himself by earning minors in Accounting and World Studies and obtaining a certificate in Business Spanish.

Mr. Reck's educational journey was further enriched by his participation in several study abroad programs, which allowed him to live and study in countries such as Mexico, Austria, Italy and Argentina. To augment his legal qualifications, he is licensed to practice law by the Hawai'i State Judiciary as well as the United States Federal District Court for the District of Hawai'i.

Also known for his civic-minded contributions, Mr. Reck began serving as treasurer for the Association of Apartment Owners of his building in 2025 and has held the position of chairman of the board with the community development entity Lokahi Pacific since 2018. Alongside his colleagues at Apo, Reck & Kusachi, he completes at least 40 hours of pro bono legal services annually. The firm is also a major donor to organizations including the Pacific Cancer Foundation, Hawaiian Islands Land Trust, Habitat for Humanity, the Maui Arts & Cultural Center and Imua Family Services.

Outside of his professional and civic endeavors, Mr. Reck's personal interests include scuba diving — he remains certified by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) — as well as traveling and music. Looking ahead, he is committed to ensuring that Apo, Reck & Kusachi continues to keep pace with technological advancements while focusing on bringing the firm's work on Lahaina fires litigation toward its completion on behalf of approximately 3,500 clients, continuing his longstanding dedication to helping others through everything he does in the legal sector and beyond.
