In this role, Ms. Carvalho manages all aspects of the business, including mediation, networking, marketing and daily administrative responsibilities. She frequently handles cases rooted in consumer protection and civil litigation, while also expanding her expertise to employment disputes and breach of contract matters. Drawing on the professional network she cultivated over years in litigation, Ms. Carvalho secured her initial clients and now focuses on broadening her reach within new professional circles.
Additionally, Ms. Carvalho serves as a mediator with Woodruff Dispute Resolution Center in California, a position she accepted in 2026. This concurrent position allows her to further refine her mediation skills and extend her impact within the dispute resolution community.
For nearly a decade, Ms. Carvalho was affiliated with Strategic Legal Practices, APC, in Los Angeles. She started as a supervising attorney in 2016, overseeing teams and supporting the firm's litigation efforts, and worked her way up to senior legal counsel in 2020 and partner between 2022 and 2026. Her appointment as a partner was particularly significant, as she became the only partner other than the founding member, overseeing litigation and settlement strategy of the rapidly growing firm. During her partnership, Ms. Carvalho played a pivotal role in guiding the firm's growth from a medium-sized operation to a major practice managing many thousands of active cases and implementing new technologies, streamlining litigation processes along the way.
Before joining Strategic Legal Practices, APC, Ms. Carvalho worked as an associate attorney at Estelle and Kennedy, A Professional Law Corporation, in Los Angeles from 2014 to 2016. This general practice environment exposed her to diverse legal fields, including criminal law, civil litigation and family law, which helped shape her ultimate focus on civil litigation.
Ms. Carvalho's early legal experience included serving as a certified law clerk for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office in Pasadena in 2014. She also gained experience as a legal research assistant with Surfrider Foundation in San Clemente in 2013 after working as a certified law clerk for the juvenile division of the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office that same year. Earlier still, Ms. Carvalho worked as a law clerk for the Santa Monica City Attorney's Office in 2012 in Santa Monica. Her academic journey began with research assistant work at All About Addiction within the Integrated Substance Abuse Program in Los Angeles from 2010 to 2011.
In preparation for her future, Ms. Carvalho completed a Bachelor of Arts in psychology at the University of California, Los Angeles, in 2011. Her studies in psychology informed her approach to dispute resolution by deepening her understanding of human behavior and conflict dynamics. Subsequently, Ms. Carvalho received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles in 2014. She was admitted to practice by the California Bar in 2014 and by the District of Columbia Bar Association in 2025.
Ms. Carvalho is an active member of the Beverly Hills Bar Association, where she recently published an article on dispute resolution: Conflict Changes People—Mediation Helps Them Change Course. In addition to her professional pursuits, she is actively engaged with civic-minded organizations. She is currently navigating applications for pro bono mediation panels with Los Angeles Superior Court and seeks participation with Resolve Law LA and the Mediation Center of Los Angeles. Additionally, Ms. Carvalho is in the process of making herself available for arbitrations and mediations via the Beverly Hills Bar Association. Ms. Carvalho also volunteers with the St. Bernardine Catholic School and church community.
