DENVER, CO, September 09, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Evan Anundsen has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Marked by nearly two decades of achievement, resilience and growth across multiple fields, Mr. Anundsen currently serves as a project director with ZAP Engineering & Construction Services, Inc., a position he has held since 2023. In his leadership capacity, he oversees a significant portion of the company's operations with a focus on energy infrastructure and heavy industrial projects such as cement and chemical plants. His responsibilities center on the non-engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) aspects of the organization — particularly those related to oil and gas or energy-related infrastructure — and he manages select projects based on size or the specific needs of his clients.
Committed to supporting his colleagues by providing guidance in client relations, proposal development and engineering tasks, Mr. Anundsen is also responsible for updating organizational standards, assisting with interim staff training and creating new processes to improve the company's efficiency.
Before assuming his current role at ZAP Engineering, Mr. Anundsen excelled as the company's business development manager, playing a pivotal role in establishing its Houston office in the Gulf Coast region in 2022. He traveled regularly between Colorado and Texas for approximately two and a half years to support hiring efforts, integrate new staff members and build relationships with new clients. His efforts contributed significantly to the growth of the Houston office, which eventually warranted hiring a full-time professional to support its operations. He continued to provide ongoing support there by ensuring consistent workflows and assisting with major projects that required substantial resources.
From 2020 to 2023, Mr. Anundsen worked in mechanical engineering and business development at ZAP, finding new clients and identifying opportunities with organizations that had previously collaborated with the company. He worked closely with the vice president of business development, sharing responsibilities between the Houston and Lakewood, Colorado, offices. Notably, he supported engineering work on the largest financial project in the company's history — a milestone achievement that underscored his ability to manage complex and impactful undertakings.
Mr. Anundsen began his tenure at ZAP Engineering & Construction as a mechanical engineer in 2018 after completing an internship with the company during his collegiate studies at Colorado School of Mines. In this initial role, he gained foundational experience in midstream and upstream oil and gas applications while learning about industry standards and internal processes.
Prior to starting his engineering career, Mr. Anundsen was a professional pitcher for Major League Baseball's Milwaukee Brewers from 2006 to 2012 after being drafted in the fourth round from Columbine High School. Over six successful years, he played throughout the minor leagues both nationally and internationally, earning accolades such as Pitcher of the Year for his minor league organization in 2009 and being named a three-time All-Star. After undergoing shoulder surgery in 2010, he persevered and completed his rehabilitation to return to pitching for a further two years before pivoting toward higher education and a career in engineering project management.
Determined to make an impact outside of his primary roles as well, Mr. Anundsen is an active member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and serves as a director for the Gas Processing Association.
Hailing from an equally accomplished academic background, Mr. Anundsen earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Colorado School of Mines in 2017. He began his higher education at Community College of Denver before transferring his credits to complete his degree at Colorado School of Mines — a decision influenced by his transition out of professional sports following his shoulder surgery.
Reflecting on his storied journey to date, Mr. Anundsen attributes much of his success to his Christian faith and supportive family network. These influences have helped him maintain perspective through life's challenges — whether navigating career transitions or balancing demanding professional responsibilities — and have reinforced his belief that no challenge is insurmountable when approached logically and with emotional awareness.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Anundsen is deeply committed to civic engagement and philanthropy. Since 2019, he has been an active member and fundraiser for Denver Children's Foundation, which strives to provide safe spaces and opportunities for at-risk youth within the community. He also volunteers for philanthropic initiatives such as mission trips and supports fundraising efforts for the Gas Processing Association by contributing scholarships for children.
In his personal life, Mr. Anundsen enjoys spending time with his wife Kathleen, traveling together, participating in sports activities such as golf trips, and supporting his friends and family whenever possible. Personal growth remains a priority for him as he continually seeks new challenges both professionally and personally.
Looking ahead, Mr. Anundsen is dedicated to advancing work within energy infrastructure while fostering growth opportunities for himself and others within the sector. Eager to bridge the gaps between differing perspectives within industry communities while exploring advancements that can drive progress across all fields, he believes strongly in prioritizing community growth over individual accomplishments.
Throughout every stage of his journey, from professional athletics through academic achievement and engineering leadership, Mr. Anundsen has maintained a balanced perspective rooted in faith, family support and a commitment to helping those in need across all areas of his life.
