SOUTH LYON, MI, September 09, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Robert Grand has been recognized for achievement in engineering.

Mr. Grand's professional journey reflects a steady progression through increasingly complex engineering and leadership roles, culminating in his current position as a small business owner of R26 Industries (www.R26Industries.com), a Michigan-based company that specializes in 3D printing, since 2026. At R26 Industries, he oversees 3D printing operations and design services, implements technical solutions for customer projects, designs and manages the corporate website, designs and manages the corporate 3D printing ETSY store (www.etsy.com/shop/R26Industries) and finally works with local artists to develop 3D printed products for commercial sale. Mr. Grand's responsibilities also include planning for business expansion with additional machines to meet growing demand.

In addition to his work at R26 Industries, an entrepreneurial venture supported by his partner, Carol, whose encouragement has played a significant role in his decision to launch the company, Mr. Grand serves as a senior application engineer at NMB Technologies Corporation in Novi, Michigan, a role he has held since 2024. He previously contributed to the organization as an application engineer, starting in 2023, where he developed expertise in technical customer negotiations and application engineering. Notably, NMB is the world's largest manufacturer of stepper motors and a leader in the design and manufacturing of precision electromechanical and semiconductor components.

Earlier, Mr. Grand was a product engineer at McLaren Engineering/Linamar from 2019 to 2023, where he further honed his skills in mechanical and automotive engineering disciplines. He also spent over five years as a senior steering systems engineer at Changan US R&D Center Inc., starting in 2012, building upon his extensive background in steering system technologies. Mr. Grand's previous experience included serving as a lead engineer at Eaton Aerospace from 2011 to 2012, after spending 10 years as an applications engineer at NSK Steering Systems America between 2001 and 2011.

A pivotal milestone in Mr. Grand's career was his tenure as the chief project FAA overhaul and repair engineer at Pratt & Whitney from 1997 to 2000. He was responsible for leading significant engineering projects related to aircraft maintenance and certification. However, it was during his time as the lead project engineer at Cirrus Design Corporation between 1993 and 1996 that Mr. Grand achieved what he considers his most meaningful professional accomplishment, which included his role as the chief engineer for a small aircraft certification project in 1995 and 1996. In this capacity, he supported the aircraft design and development from initial concept through construction and into flight testing, while simultaneously managing engineering leadership, prototyping, scheduling and cost analysis.

Mr. Grand's academic foundation is rooted in a Bachelor of Science in aerospace engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988. This formal education provided the technical grounding necessary for his entry into the engineering profession that same year. Over time, Mr. Grand's exposure to aerospace, automotive and mechanical engineering disciplines allowed him to develop a comprehensive skill set that has proven invaluable throughout his career.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Grand has demonstrated civic engagement through more than seven years of service on his neighborhood's homeowners association board; three as the treasurer and two as the Vice President. In this capacity, he implemented new organizational and digital systems that improved association operations. He also developed the association's website from scratch and continues to maintain it as the webmaster.

Mr. Grand is also recognized for his creative endeavors as an author with Reaper Two-Six Productions. His works include "Reaper Two-Six: Year 5, The Rise of Global Insurgency," published in 2011, followed by "Reaper Two-Six: Year 6, Act of Redemption" in 2012.

Crediting much of his success to the individuals around him, Mr. Grand emphasizes that meaningful achievements are rarely accomplished alone. Trusting colleagues with specific expertise and empowering them has been central to his leadership philosophy, an approach shaped by formative experiences early in his career. Looking ahead, Mr. Grand intends to grow R26 Industries into a full-time endeavor with plans already underway for expanding its capabilities as customer demand increases. Throughout every stage of his career and personal life, he has demonstrated expertise in technical customer negotiations, application engineering and advanced design methods, achievements that reflect both depth of knowledge and commitment to continuous improvement.
