Since 1996, she has overseen all aspects of the company's operations, collaborating closely with her internal team to ensure the business's continued success. Her leadership has allowed her to remain actively engaged in the community and support organizations beyond her own company.

Reflecting on her career, Ms. Gallegos-Martinez considers her most notable achievements to be the positive impact she has had on countless lives and the opportunity to meet and collaborate with remarkable people along the way. Ms. Gallegos-Martinez also served as a move-in coordinator at The Woodmark at Uptown from 1998 to 1999, where she contributed to helping new residents and their families transition into assisted living environments. From 1996 to 1998, she was a marketing director at Karrington of Albuquerque, where she worked to promote senior living services within the local community.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Gallegos-Martinez held the role of case manager for New Mexico Aging and Long Term Services in Dona Ana County from 1994 to 1996. During this period, she gained valuable experience working directly with older adults and their families, further deepening her commitment to gerontology and elder care. Her professional journey began with academic-related positions, including student assistant at The Institute for Gerontological Research and Education and lead student for the Minority Outreach Program of the American Association of Retired Persons.

Throughout her professional journey, Ms. Gallegos-Martinez has maintained active membership in several industry-related organizations, such as the Golden Key National Honor Society and Sigma Phi Omega. These affiliations have connected her with peers who share her dedication to excellence in gerontology and community service.

Ms. Gallegos-Martinez's academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and gerontology from New Mexico State University, earned in 1994. She credits much of her success to doing work she genuinely loves, a calling that traces back to childhood experiences helping elderly neighbors and spending time with her grandmothers in Colorado. That calling, she says, comes down to staying attentive to others' needs and being approachable and responsive because showing up for someone matters even if you never know whether it made a difference.

Beyond her business responsibilities, Ms. Gallegos-Martinez is deeply involved in civic life. She currently serves on the boards of UMB Bank, where she has been a member since it was known as New Mexico Bank and Trust beginning in 2020; the National Hispanic Cultural Center Foundation since 2022; and the Albuquerque Museum Foundation since 2025. She previously chaired the Hispano Chamber of Commerce in 2020 and was a long time member as well. She additionally chaired Go Red for Women for the American Heart Association, reflecting her commitment to health advocacy.

Ms. Gallegos-Martinez's contributions have been recognized through numerous awards and honors. In 2022, she received the Diverse Business Leaders Award, and in 2021 she was honored with the New Mexico Humanitarian Award from the Jewish Community Center. In 2017, she was recognized for her chairmanship of Go Red for Women. She has also received Heritage Registry Honors, been named a Notable New Mexican in the Congressional Record of New Mexico, and been acknowledged by the New Mexico Secretary of State.

Additional honors include Ms. Gallegos-Martinez's inclusion among the Top 25 Businesswomen in New Mexico by the New Mexico State Auditor, the Guardian of the Treasury distinction from the New Mexico State Treasurer and recognition from Governor Susana Martinez. She has also been recognized for her participation in the University Honors Program.

Born in Cheyenne, raised in Albuquerque, Ms. Gallegos-Martinez enjoys spending time with her three children, traveling to explore new destinations, shopping with her daughter and selling vintage items through her Etsy store. Looking ahead, she plans to reconnect more deeply with city life after retirement by returning to volunteer work on city boards and participating in local events such as fundraisers and drives.
