Prior to his current role, Mr. Hodges was the chief operations officer at RedSun Solar LLC in Salt Lake City from 2016 to 2025. Before entering the renewable energy field, Mr. Hodges worked as a licensed general contractor in Wyoming. His background in construction provided a strong foundation for his later work in solar energy. Following the 2007 and 2008 economic downturn, which affected the construction industry, he served as a deputy sheriff in Sweetwater County, Wyoming. In 2010, he relocated to Utah to get married and subsequently launched the Utah division of Solsius Solar as operations manager, marking the beginning of his journey in renewable energy.
Mr. Hodges' academic credentials include earning a Bachelor of Arts in business administration with a focus on management and operations from Liberty University in 2015. He also holds numerous certifications that underscore his technical proficiency and commitment to safety and quality standards, including PV professional installer and PV installation professional credentials from NABCEP, general contractor B100 certification, RES-BUILDER certification, E100 and S202 certifications and OSHA 30-hour safety certifications earned in both 2000 and 2011. He is also proud to be a member of the South Valley Chamber.
Reflecting on his career, Mr. Hodges attributes his success to humility and a willingness to ask questions, emphasizing that continual learning and seeking guidance have been fundamental to his achievements. In addition to his professional pursuits, Mr. Hodges is deeply committed to civic service and community involvement. He currently serves as chairman of the Jordan Basin Improvement District and is a city council member for Herriman, Utah. He is also the director of mentoring and a trainer at EmpowerU Inc., the director of construction and team lead at Kaiizen Foundation, the president of his homeowners association, and a board member of the Jordan Education Foundation. His active participation with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints includes volunteering for various community events and fundraisers.
Born in Wyoming, Mr. Hodges moved to Utah in 2010, where he met his wife during an internship with the Utah Blaze Arena Football team. They have been married for sixteen years as of 2026 and are parents to two daughters aged fifteen and ten. Family travel is an annual tradition they cherish together. In his free time, Mr. Hodges enjoys smoking meat, barbecuing and performing as Santa Claus for corporate events and nonprofit organizations—an activity he hopes will one day lead him to appear as Santa in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
