From 2017 to 2023, he served as general manager of the client connectivity division, spearheading wired connectivity product strategies and business growth for the company's connectivity solutions.

During this period, Mr. Ziller was pivotal in overseeing Thunderbolt technology — developed by Intel and brought to market in collaboration with Apple, which was first introduced in 2011 — and driving its adoption across both Mac and Windows platforms. His efforts were central to establishing Thunderbolt as an industry standard used by millions worldwide. Some in the industry began referring to him as the "father of Thunderbolt" for his significant role in promoting and standardizing this technology.

From 2011 to 2017, Mr. Ziller excelled as the director of marketing and planning for both the local area network (LAN) division and the client connectivity division at Intel, where he engaged with the ecosystem, including testing and networking events in Asia and the United States and establishing Thunderbolt's certification program. He previously advanced through management roles in strategic and technology marketing.

During the dot-com boom of the late 1990s and early 2000s, Mr. Ziller was at the forefront of portable laptop computer development as the devices quickly gained widespread popularity.
