As the founder and chief executive officer of Fortifye with locations in Denver and New York City, he has been at the forefront of modernizing physical security through an artificial intelligence (AI) - enabled trusted access platform. He is also responsible for software development, brand strategy, corporate strategy, and sales strategy. His role further involves revenue generation and business transactions with clients and partners.

Before founding Fortifye, Mr. Friedman held the position of co-founder and chief information officer at Shortpath Inc., an online facility management platform, where he contributed to the company's technological direction and business development strategies from 2003 to 2011.

For more than 25 years, Mr. Friedman successfully managed Building Intelligence Inc. in New York City as the company's founder, chief executive officer and board member from 1997 to 2024. During his tenure, he was instrumental in developing security solutions that have had a lasting impact on critical infrastructure. One of his most significant achievements was having his product deployed at the World Trade Center over many years, contributing to efforts to rebuild the site and ensure its safety. Mr. Friedman began his professional journey in law as a staff attorney and judicial intern at Jacobson & Colfin P.C. in 1992. He then served as an associate to the general counsel for the Service Employees Association at the Realty Advisory Board for over five years, from 1993 to 1999. These formative experiences provided Mr. Friedman with a foundation in legal practice before he transitioned into technology-driven security solutions.

Mr. Friedman's academic background has been integral to his success. After completing a Bachelor of Arts in political science with a minor in music from Emory University, he earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Yeshiva University. He was admitted to practice by the New York and Colorado Bar Associations and the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Mr. Friedman further distinguished himself through credentials from the Security Industry Association (SIA), including perimeter security subcommittee certification, startups in security certification, and data center advisory board certification.

Active in his professional community, Mr. Friedman has extensive affiliations. He is a member of the data center advisory board, the perimeter security subcommittee, and the threat, vulnerability, and risk assessment group within SIA, ASIS International, InfraGard, NYPD Shield, the New York Metro chapter of the Association of Contingency Planners, and BOMA International.
