MOIRA, NY, September 24, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- David R. Davenport Jr., PhD, has been recognized for achievement in emergency medical services and forensic psychology.

Dr. Davenport's distinguished career in emergency medical services (EMS) and forensic psychology is marked by an outstanding commitment to community service and interdisciplinary collaboration. He currently serves as a paramedic with Monroe Ambulance in Malone, New York, where he responds to emergency calls, provides advanced paramedic care during 12-hour overnight shifts, teaches continuing medical education on an as-needed basis, serves on advisory boards and conducts research in forensic psychology and criminal profiling. He is also a member of the Critical Incident Stress Management Team, offering critical support during high-stress situations.

Since 2025, Dr. Davenport has also held the roles of field training officer and assistant clinical educator, contributing to the professional development of new staff and ensuring the highest standards are maintained in emergency response.

Prior to these positions, Dr. Davenport initially joined Monroe Ambulance as an advanced emergency medical technician (EMT) in critical care in 2024. That same year, his expertise was further recognized through his appointment as an advisory board member at Walden University, where he contributes his knowledge to academic program development. Also in 2024, he served as a guest lecturer at Evidentia University, sharing the insights and knowledge gained from his research in forensic psychology and criminal behavior analysis.

For 25 years, from 1999 to 2024, Dr. Davenport dedicated himself to Northern Ambulance Corps LLC as an advanced EMT specializing in critical care. Before relocating to New York, he gained valuable experience serving as a foreman at Dundee Tree Service in Colorado Springs, Colorado, from 1997 to 1999 and as a signal support systems specialist and combat lifesaver in the United States Army from 1992 to 1997.

Alongside his primary roles, Dr. Davenport is a member of the International Association of Criminal Analysts, the Society for Police and Criminal Psychology and the American Psychological Association. Though his career counts many milestones, he regards his ability to work collaboratively with law enforcement agencies, fire departments and other emergency medical services (EMS) teams as his most notable achievement. He finds profound fulfillment in serving his community and values the teamwork inherent in emergency response roles.

Hailing from an equally accomplished academic background, Dr. Davenport earned a Doctor of Philosophy in forensic psychology from Walden University in 2022 after completing a Master of Philosophy in forensic psychology at the same institution in 2020. Determined to make an impact outside the classroom as well, he was a member of the Salute Veterans National Honor Society and the Golden Key International Honour Society. He began his higher education with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Argosy University in 2016.

To further his ability to serve those in the greatest need, Dr. Davenport was certified in assisting individuals in crisis and group crisis intervention by the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation in 2026.

Reflecting on his storied journey to date, Dr. Davenport credits much of his success to the unwavering support of his family — particularly his parents and wife — as well as influential teachers who guided him during his formative years. Entering the field of emergency medical services initially out of financial necessity when he and his wife were on welfare, he was encouraged by his brother's suggestion to apply for a position at Northern Ambulance Corps; what began as a practical decision has since evolved into a difference-making vocation spanning over 25 years and counting.

Beyond his primary responsibilities, Dr. Davenport is deeply involved with civic organizations dedicated to public safety and health. He serves as EMS captain for the Bombay Volunteer Fire Department and has volunteered as a firefighter and EMT with the department since 2018. Additionally, he has contributed as an EMT with Moira EMS and as an advanced critical care EMT with Fort Covington EMS since 2022. From 2014 to 2018, he served with St. Regis Falls EMS in an advanced EMT role and volunteered as both a firefighter and EMT for the Moira Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department for five years.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Dr. Davenport continues to advance research related to forensic psychology, criminal behavior analysis and criminal profiling; he is currently authoring a book chapter that focuses on male sex offenders within the healthcare industry.

On a personal level, Dr. Davenport is happily married to his wife Marianne and is the proud father of three children and grandfather of nine — two of whom are active baseball players. Outside of work, he enjoys studying various chapters of the Bible and cherishes spending time with his family.

Looking toward the future, Dr. Davenport aims to further expand his knowledge and expertise within paramedicine while remaining actively engaged in research and education. He is also interested in pursuing college-level teaching opportunities when they arise and remains open to collaborating with law enforcement should future opportunities align with his professional goals, reflecting his longstanding legacy of helping others and making a positive community impact through everything he does.
