Prior to her current roles, Ms. Lawrence served as the director of the Traumatic Brain Injury and Nursing Home Transition and Diversion Program for Long Island at Community Care Home Health Services from January 2022 to August 2022. Organizational changes within Community Care Home Health Services prompted her transition into fundraising, leading her to pursue new opportunities that aligned more closely with her values and interests.

Ms. Lawrence's earlier career includes significant experience in mental health services. In 2021, she was a team leader for NY Project Hope at the Association for Mental Health and Wellness in Ronkonkoma, where she contributed to a FEMA-run program established in response to COVID-19. From 2019 to 2021, she was a clinical coordinator at Family Residences and Essential Enterprises Inc., based in Oakdale. These positions allowed Ms. Lawrence to further develop her skills in person-centered care while working alongside individuals whose stories inspired her ongoing commitment to service.

From 2016 to 2019, Ms. Lawrence owned and operated 101 Paws Inc., an enterprise based in Centerport that reflected her entrepreneurial spirit. Simultaneously, she volunteered as a member of the Disaster Action Team for the American Red Cross Greater New York from 2015 to 2019, contributing to emergency response efforts across the region.

Earlier experiences include managing Tom's 101 Paws from 2012 to 2016 and working as a substitute aide at Developmental Disabilities Institute — now Brightway Living & Learning — in Huntington from 2014 to 2015. These formative positions helped shape Ms. Lawrence's approach to person-centered services and reinforced her dedication to supporting individuals with unique needs.

Ms. Lawrence's academic background includes a Master of Arts in psychology from Stony Brook University, completed in 2017, and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Long Island University, earned in 2015. During her graduate studies, she completed an internship at the Leonard Krasner Psychological Center and served as a research assistant at the Mind Body Clinical Research Center at Stony Brook University during 2016 and 2017. Her academic achievements provided a strong foundation for her subsequent roles in mental health and nonprofit leadership.

Throughout her life, Ms. Lawrence has maintained active involvement with civic-minded organizations such as Developmental Disabilities Institute, Drug Free Long Island. Her volunteer work began during childhood weekends spent assisting with dance-based programs for children requiring intensive support, including several years working closely with a young child with cerebral palsy.
