His expertise encompasses upper and lower endoscopies and esophageal motility testing, which remain central to his daily practice. Dr. Zink's primary hospital affiliation is with Corewell Health Zeeland Hospital, although he occasionally extends his services to other healthcare facilities in the region. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Zink serves as a clinical assistant professor at the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University. Dr. Zink's professional affiliations underscore his commitment to excellence in gastroenterology. He has been an active member of the Michigan GI Society, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American College of Gastroenterology since 2003. Earning fellowship status with the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy represents a significant achievement, particularly given the challenges faced by practitioners serving rural or semi-urban populations.

His educational journey began at Michigan State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in zoology and received the Stiles-Butcher Award for Achievement in Zoology during his freshman year. Dr. Zink's fascination with human biology ultimately led him to enroll in the Wayne State University School of Medicine, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1999. He then completed a residency in internal medicine at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in 2002, followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology at the same institution in 2006.

Dr. Zink holds dual board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in both internal medicine (2002) and gastroenterology (2006), and has maintained these credentials throughout his career. Beyond medicine, he is also a certified U.S. soccer referee.

Throughout his professional life, Dr. Zink has contributed to several industry initiatives and organizations outside of direct patient care. He is an active participant on the Item-Writing Task Force for the American Board of Internal Medicine Gastroenterology section, where he helps develop examination content for board certification candidates. He also serves on the steering committee for the Michigan GI Society's annual conference.

Recognition for Dr. Zink's contributions includes being named among Castle Connolly's Top Doctors for ten years as well as receiving the Stiles-Butcher Award early in his academic career.

Born in Detroit, Dr. Zink credits much of his success to the steadfast support of his family — especially his wife, Wendy, an accomplished pediatrician who runs her own concierge practice — and their four children. He values work-life balance and enjoys activities such as refereeing U.S. soccer matches, hiking, camping and boating during his leisure time.
