In addition to these responsibilities, he oversees regular risk management and consulting duties and guides all day-to-day office operations.

From 1980 to 2010, Mr. Barber excelled as president of Risk Management International Limited. He built a lasting reputation for innovative solutions over the course of his 40-year tenure, most notably developing the initial food industry buying program that grew from less than $1 million in premiums in 1992 to more than $55 million by 2010. The success of this initiative stands as one of his proudest professional achievements.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Barber served as an officer at Warner Communications from 1976 to 1982, performing risk management work on a salaried basis. This role marked his transition from brokerage into risk management consulting, where he would become recognized as a leading expert.

Before joining Warner Communications, Mr. Barber worked as a producer at Alexander & Alexander Services Inc. and as a senior account executive and producer at Mollod and Berkowitz. He began his professional journey at Farjeon, Ballin & Co., where he advanced from file clerk and general manager to vice president over several years. Throughout each of these roles, he demonstrated his dedication to analyzing exposures for clients, reviewing contracts, evaluating safety procedures and designing comprehensive insurance programs tailored to the needs of his clients.

Mr. Barber's educational background includes coursework at College of Insurance in New York City, where he completed the studies necessary to obtain both a broker's license, an insurance consultant's license, and a life insurance license. His entry into the field was influenced by his father's work in life insurance; a summer job at his father's firm introduced him to the industry and set the stage for a lifelong vocation focused on property and casualty insurance rather than life insurance itself.

Reflecting on his storied journey to date, Mr. Barber attributes his professional success primarily to maintaining his focus — a quality that has enabled him to navigate complex industry challenges and achieve sustained growth across multiple ventures. The licensure he earned early in his career likewise provided the foundation for his advancement from clerical roles into positions of increasing responsibility within the insurance sector.

Also known for his civic-minded contributions, Mr. Barber has notably served as head of Société Mondiale du Vin, a subchapter of La Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs — an international gastronomic society that is among the oldest fraternal organizations in the world dedicated to fine dining and wine appreciation. Under his leadership, the Mondiale subchapter emphasized wine as the primary focus of its monthly gatherings at distinguished restaurants.

Mr. Barber's outstanding contributions have seen him recognized with multiple accolades over the years, including honors from Insurance Business Review and repeated rankings for Risk Management International LTD as the top-ranked independent risk management consulting firm in the United States by Business Insurance magazine.

Happily married and a deeply devoted family man, Mr. Barber will soon celebrate his 11th wedding anniversary with his current spouse, following a previous marriage of 51 years. He is also the proud father of two daughters and takes great pride in having supported them through significant milestones such as home ownership and higher education. He cherishes spending time with his six grandchildren, whose futures he has helped secure through substantial trust funds and tuition funds dedicated to their college education.

Together with his wife, Mr. Barber has visited a remarkable 183 countries around the world and enjoys playing tennis as a primary hobby. Looking toward the future, his foremost goal is to help his wife fully recover from her battle with leukemia so they may resume their tradition of traveling together — particularly to National Geographic-sponsored world tours they both enjoy. Professionally, he remains focused on rebuilding the food industry buying program at Risk Management International and restoring the staff levels needed to support continued growth and balance across all aspects of his life.
