Mr. Samlall currently serves as a lead aviation maintenance technician at Piedmont Airlines, a position he has held since 2022. In this capacity, he oversees and reviews all paperwork before the mechanics arrive, examines scheduled work for the day, and reviews all deferrals. He assesses any issues reported on aircraft, prepares jobs in advance and ensures that when planes arrive for maintenance, his team is ready to address problems efficiently. Mr. Samlall's leadership is marked by a collaborative approach; notably, his dedication was recognized when he was recommended by peers for Employee of the Month at Piedmont Airlines in 2024.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Samlall worked as an aviation maintenance technician at Piedmont Airlines from 2019 to 2022. He joined the company after earning his Federal Aviation Administration Airframe and Power Plant certification, which enabled him to secure a position in Albany, New York. During this period, he contributed to the airline's operations by performing essential maintenance tasks and supporting the company's commitment to safety and reliability.

Before entering the civilian aviation sector, Mr. Samlall built a foundation of expertise during his service in the United States Marine Corps. From 2015 to 2019, he served as a CH-53E aircraft maintenance technician, specializing in one of the largest helicopters in the military fleet. His responsibilities included hydraulics, landing gear and airframe repairs.

Concurrently, from 2014 to 2019, Mr. Samlall was an airframe mechanic for the Marine Corps, where he developed skills that would later prove invaluable in his civilian career. Earning the title of Marine stands as one of his proudest achievements; as the first in his family to serve in the military, he honors his family's sacrifices and immigrant journey through this milestone. Mr. Samlall's dedication to service was recognized with several medals during his time with the United States Marine Corps.

Mr. Samlall's academic background has been instrumental in shaping his professional trajectory. He earned a Master of Science in aviation maintenance from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 2026 and a Bachelor of Science in aviation maintenance management from the same institute in 2025. He is also a graduate of Schenectady High School, where he received a Regents Diploma in 2013.

Throughout his career, Mr. Samlall has pursued ongoing professional development through certifications such as Become a Marketing Coordinator from LinkedIn in 2025; AE 3007A Line Maintenance Course from Rolls-Royce in 2024; and Boeing 737NG Familiarization from Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology in 2019. He holds an Airframe, Power Plant or Repairer License from the Federal Aviation Administration awarded in 2019 and completed an airframe mechanic apprenticeship through the United States Department of Labor that same year.

Mr. Samlall's credentials additionally include certification as an aviation maintenance technician under Part 65 at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University since 2019; Cargo Helicopter-53E Airframe Organizational Maintenance training at the Center of Naval Aviation Technical Training in 2015; and completion of Aviation Structures Mechanic Common Core at Naval Air Technical Training Center.

Reflecting on his career, Mr. Samlall credits much of his success to teamwork — a value instilled during Marine Corps boot camp — and to the support of colleagues who reinforce that safety is always paramount. He also acknowledges the influence of college professors and peers at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University for fostering collaborative learning environments that enhanced both technical skills and group problem-solving abilities.

Outside of his professional commitments, Mr. Samlall enjoys tending his garden, managing his second property, performing maintenance around his home, visiting beach areas, spending time with friends and camping on weekends. Looking ahead, he aims to advance within aviation management by progressing from lead mechanic to supervisor and eventually base manager.
