Dedicated to expanding his student base and providing hands-on instruction for both children and adults, he shares his extensive knowledge of martial arts — drawing from the practical experience he gained as a police officer and in the United States military — with a focus on all aspects of martial arts except ground fighting.

Mr. Comito's approach emphasizes self-defense, personal growth and achievement, celebrating not only students who reach the advanced ranks but also those who discover new paths or develop confidence through their training. Though his career counts many milestones, watching his students follow their dreams and excel in any area of life remains his greatest source of pride.

Prior to establishing his current school, Mr. Comito contributed significantly as a defensive tactics instructor for the Addison Police Department. In this capacity, he was responsible for imparting essential self-defense techniques to law enforcement personnel, leveraging his expertise to enhance officer safety and preparedness throughout the Addison, Texas, community. His tenure with the department further enriched his understanding of the real-world applications of martial arts.

In 2000, Mr. Comito relocated to Texas and began teaching at-risk youth through Chuck Norris' Kick Drugs Out of America (now Kickstart Kids) program. Instructing children in schools with the goal of steering them away from drugs and gangs by providing positive mentorship and practical skills, this experience deepened his commitment to using martial arts as a tool for empowerment and social change.

Mr. Comito began his journey as a martial arts instructor in 1986 after earning a black belt from Chuck Norris. During this time, he studied under the renowned instructor Bob Barrow, who was a member of the championship Chuck Norris black belt fighting team. He initially operated a brick-and-mortar martial arts school for three years before dedicating himself fully to instruction. Since then, he has taught countless students over the years, always striving to foster discipline, resilience and the self-confidence to make the right decisions when difficult situations arise.

Before focusing on martial arts education, Mr. Comito built a foundation in sales support and marketing, which provided him with valuable communication and organizational skills that have benefited his teaching endeavors. His professional background also includes service in the United States military from 1985 to 2007, with the discipline and leadership skills he acquired continuing to inform every aspect of his training philosophy.

Alongside his primary roles, Mr. Comito serves as vice president of the International Martial Arts Society, reflecting both his professional standing and ongoing contributions to the advancement of martial arts worldwide.

Prior to enlisting in the military, Mr. Comito pursued higher education and earned a Bachelor of Arts in photography from Brigham Young University in 1985. To augment his ability to teach advanced defensive strategies and conditioning techniques, he was certified by Gracie Survival Tactics and is formally recognized as a fitness trainer and tactical conditioning specialist.

Reflecting on his storied journey to date, Mr. Comito credits much of his success to the encouragement and guidance he has received from his colleagues across the martial arts, law enforcement and military communities. He acknowledges that numerous friends have likewise played pivotal roles in shaping his journey by offering their unwavering support and constructive feedback.

Mr. Comito's achievements as both a martial artist and public servant have seen him recognized with multiple accolades over the years. He holds a ninth degree in Gaku-Jutsu-Do, a sixth degree Chuck Norris black belt and has won Competitor of the Year honors, underscoring his mastery in the field. Outside of the martial arts realm, he received the Life Saving Award from the Addison Police Department and a Bronze Star from the United States military.

Happily married to his wife Linda — with whom he recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary — and a proud father of three children, Mr. Comito enjoys a rich and fulfilling personal life. Alongside his endeavors in martial arts, he pursues fine art black-and-white photography and frequently exhibits his work locally.
