Matthew Gagliardi has spent nearly three decades working at the intersection of construction production, operations, and information systems. He currently serves as Director of Business Systems at Jenkins Restorations, a national insurance restoration contractor operating 26 branches. He also serves as General Manager of the Baltimore branch. In that dual role, Mr. Gagliardi oversees the financial and operational systems that serve as the company's backbone. Profit-and-loss responsibility for each branch is managed and tracked virtually as a live document. Mr. Gagliardi organizes and administers this unique combination of systems, which has consistently held up both financially and in the field.

Mr. Gagliardi joined Jenkins Restorations in 2014 as a large loss project manager, handling large residential and light commercial restoration projects. He cites his ongoing operational success and the company's ERP software migration as his proudest accomplishments there. He volunteered to co-lead it without compensation on top of a full project load, using his construction background to translate operational needs into financial and technical requirements. The work created a position at the company that had not existed before. Company executives have also recognized his ability to train staff on new systems, lead complex projects, and break down existing corporate silos to blend departments and responsibilities.

Before joining Jenkins Restorations, Mr. Gagliardi served as purchasing manager at Stanley Halle Communities from 2006 to 2014, managing purchasing, estimating, and field operations for residential projects ranging from full community build-outs to large custom homes. From 2010 to 2025, he also served as director of purchasing at Powers Homes, a Maryland semi-custom and custom homebuilder, where he ran procurement and estimating alongside his primary role.

Earlier, he worked as a development associate at Bozzuto Homes from 2003 to 2006, supporting real estate development, market analysis, and project management for mid-sized residential and condominium projects. He began his career as a paid intern at Allegheny Energy from 1997 to 1998, assisting with technical functions and server design. He spent more than a decade in homebuilding before moving into property restoration.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Operations and Information Systems Management, with a minor in Management Information Systems, from The Pennsylvania State University in 2002. The hands-on information technology work he did while earning that degree led directly into homebuilding and construction project management after graduation.

Mr. Gagliardi credits his career to a strong work ethic, clear communication, and a willingness to navigate disagreements with ease. He treats conflict as a way to reach a better outcome for all parties. That demeanor significantly matters when handling business relationships and customers, which, in restoration work, are most of them. Staying level-headed when someone else isn't is, in his view, a large part of the job.

Away from work, Mr. Gagliardi is a devoted family man who spends as much of his time as possible with his children. He credits his parents for the range of skills he brought into his career: his father, a Fortune 500 executive who retired early to teach, for business judgment and the instinct to explain things clearly, and his mother for design sense and creative problem-solving. The pairing has stayed useful. Restoration work requires both the discipline to hold a budget and the imagination to put a home back together in a way the owner wants to return to their house, even after such a traumatic experience.

Looking ahead, Mr. Gagliardi intends to keep building financial and operational systems that hold up under real field conditions, and to keep developing the people who use them.
