Drawing on her extensive background in analytical chemistry and scientific research, Dr. Kanavarioti has developed a Nanopore-array based platform for multi-cancer early detection using blood and urine samples. Her work at Yenos Analytical LLC is distinguished by three U.S. patents for this innovative test, which is unique in its ability to quantify trace nucleic acids and holds the potential to transform cancer diagnostics globally.

Before founding Yenos Analytical LLC, Dr. Kanavarioti was the associate director of analytical chemistry at Halycon Molecular from 2010 to 2012. In this position, she contributed to technology development initiatives and engaged with senior leadership to guide company direction. Leveraging her expertise, Dr. Kanavarioti also served as the associate director of analytical chemistry and technology development at Intradigm between 2009 and 2010, where she honed her skills in method development for emerging biotechnologies. In 2010, she simultaneously provided consulting services to Sutro Biopharma, utilizing her background in analytical processes for pharmaceutical applications.

From 2005 to 2008, Dr. Kanavarioti held the position of associate director of pharmaceutical sciences at Affymax, where she notably developed a formulation and analytical technology for a Food and Drug Administration-approved peptide, Omontys, for the indication of anemia. She also worked as a consultant for Talima Therapeutics in 2005, offering formulation and analytical services. Dr. Kanavarioti's earlier experience included serving as a senior scientist in formulations for the health care group at Genencor between 2004 and 2005, a biotechnology company based in the Bay Area, California.

Among other noteworthy opportunities, Dr. Kanavarioti was a scientist II in pharmaceutical sciences at Rigel from 2002 to 2003, where she participated in research projects related to drug discovery and development. In academia, she served as a Research Professor and principal investigator in the department of chemistry and biochemistry at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she was previously a graduate student, from 1998 to 2001. There, Dr. Kanavarioti led research efforts supported by NASA funding while also engaging with space mission initiatives.

Dr. Kanavarioti's career began with a research fellowship at NASA Ames Research Center in 1983. She spent five years conducting pioneering research on RNA, a molecule central to genetic function, which laid the foundation for her later achievements in nucleic acid analysis and cancer diagnostics.
