DAVID CITY, NE, October 01, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bryon Forney has been recognized for achievement in diesel engine work, semi-truck repair, engine building and restoration work.

Before establishing his own business, Mr. Forney was raised in a family-owned repair facility and worked at a very young age as a diesel mechanic's apprentice. Throughout his early years, he was immersed in the foundational aspects of mechanical work under the guidance of experienced mentors. As his life and experience progressed, he took up positions in fleet shops primarily along the interstate in Colorado. During this period, he gained valuable experience working alongside seasoned professionals and further developed his technical skills.

Mr. Forney's journey into diesel mechanics was shaped by his upbringing. Raised in David City, he grew up in a family deeply involved in the trade. His father operated a diesel repair business with several of Mr. Forney's brothers. This environment fostered an early passion for mechanics and instilled a strong work ethic. After suffering a severe accident in 1997 that resulted in the amputation of his left leg, Mr. Forney taught himself to walk again, returning to his hometown with his wife, Mary, to open their shop together.

In 2004, Forney Repair was founded as a small 4-bay shop near downtown and eventually grew into the 18,000 sq ft shop it is today. As owner and operator, Mr. Forney oversees all aspects of shop operations and customer relationships, diagnoses and repairs diesel trucks and other vehicles, assists other repair shops with complex technical challenges, and mentors and trains young mechanics and college interns. He takes particular pride in mentoring the next generation of mechanics, ensuring that his decades of hands-on knowledge are passed on. Mr. Forney's reputation for excellence has drawn loyal customers from as far away as Tennessee, Kentucky and Delaware.

Mr. Forney has demonstrated a remarkable career defined by his expertise in this sector. Among his most notable professional achievements has been the restoration of a 1942 Cushman motorcycle that had been cut into pieces during World War II and stored in three five-gallon buckets for decades. The project required three years to complete, culminating in an award-winning return of the motorcycle to its owner. Mr. Forney also has a passion for building race engines and speed. His engines have been run in pro street, circle track and marine applications and he's been featured in several speed parts catalogs and local media have done articles on his work and craftsmanship. His Chevrolet engine prowess and knowledge of building engines that last are known throughout the Midwest. He has also been featured in a Snap-On tools brochure.

Throughout his career, Mr. Forney has been recognized for his commitment to quality and integrity. He has received several awards, including the Nebraska Torch Award from the Better Business Bureau in 2022, recognition as an Honor Roll Business by the Better Business Bureau, the HDA Truck Pride Award in 2021, a County Award and a Bronze Award.

Civically invested, Mr. Forney has contributed as a donor to Lifestyles Prosthetics and Orthopedics, reflecting his commitment to supporting others facing physical challenges. Headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, the organization is recognized as a practitioner-owned clinic that provides custom orthotics, prosthetics and footwear solutions to patients.

The foundation of Mr. Forney's success lies in his internal drive and constant self-competition to improve upon past accomplishments. He credits much of his positive outlook to his mother and wife, both of whom modeled resilience through adversity. Above all, he attributes about 90% of what he has achieved to his wife, whom he calls his rock and who serves as the shop's secretary. A guiding lesson from his father, that one should never believe they know everything about mechanics or diesel work, continues to inspire Mr. Forney's dedication to lifelong learning.

Looking ahead, Mr. Forney intends to continue operating Forney Repair while gradually slowing down operations alongside his wife. He remains motivated by long-term customers who value his expertise and by a desire to ensure that employees and interns absorb both traditional mechanical methods and modern technical approaches before he steps away from daily operations. Above all else, Mr. Forney hopes to leave behind a legacy rooted in integrity and work ethic that will inspire future generations within his family and community.
