SARASOTA, FL, October 14, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Walter Tabaschek has been recognized for achievement in finance and organizational growth.
Marked by more than two decades of leadership experience across financial and business operations, Mr. Tabaschek began his most recent professional chapter in 2026 when he assumed the role of board advisor to Protelicious, an early-stage company in the gourmet functional food industry. In this capacity, he leverages his extensive background in commodities and supply chain management, particularly with wheat and whey protein, to help the company evaluate and strengthen its supply infrastructure and drive its profitability.
Mr. Tabaschek's guidance has been vital as Protelicious prepares for its next phase of growth, drawing on the vast experience he gained at several major agribusiness firms. He views his advisory position as a way to help the organization develop robust structures and processes that will support its long-term ambitions and sustainability.
Prior to joining Protelicious, Mr. Tabaschek served as chief financial officer of PureField Ingredients in Kansas from 2024 to 2026, providing valuable fiscal leadership as the company reached a pivotal stage of development. Recognizing when his role was no longer aligned with the organization's evolving needs, he initiated discussions about transitioning out, demonstrating his commitment to prioritizing what was best for the business over his personal interests.
From 2022 to 2024, Mr. Tabaschek held concurrent roles as chief operating officer and chief financial officer at Bazelet Health Systems in Darien, Connecticut. During this time, he contributed to both operational and financial strategy during a period of organizational change, expanding the company's supply chain operations by 20% while reducing overhead costs by 10%.
Also working in Long Island City, New York, from 2020 to 2022, Mr. Tabaschek excelled as chief financial officer at the healthcare technology firm PurpleSun, stabilizing the company's cash flow and providing key support for new product launches. This role marked a significant shift in which he began collaborating with smaller organizations and startups, often managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously. The experience reinforced his belief that finance must add tangible value to a business rather than serve as a mere cost center.
As the director of customer finance and environmental markets at Bunge in White Plains, New York, from 2017 to 2020 — the culmination of more than 15 years with the leading food and beverage manufacturer — Mr. Tabaschek was responsible for integrating acquired businesses and navigating complex international operations. Following Bunge's initial public offering, he oversaw quarterly closings and achieved a remarkable 67% increase in financing volume.
Earlier in his journey, from 2013 to 2016, Mr. Tabaschek served as the director of global operations at Bunge's corporate office in White Plains. This period followed nearly a year in Paris, France, as well as five years in Geneva, Switzerland, overseeing integration projects across Eastern Europe — all of which deepened his expertise in cross-cultural communication and international business assimilation.
From 2003 to 2012, Mr. Tabaschek advanced through roles as a business controller, finance director and chief financial officer at Bunge. Throughout this time, he oversaw key accounting, budget reporting and capital building initiatives during a time of significant organizational transformation across both the United States and Europe.
Mr. Tabaschek began his professional journey at the leading agriculture corporation Cargill, Incorporated in his native Argentina in 1981. Over the course of 12 years, he progressed through positions as an accountant, controller, treasurer and risk manager while undertaking assignments across Argentina, Venezuela, Mexico, Minneapolis and Miami — a foundational experience that established his expertise in finance within large multinational corporations and ability to acclimate to different communities and cultures.
Throughout his well-traveled career, Mr. Tabaschek has developed a reputation for self-awareness and an ability to see how all aspects of a business fit together. He is recognized for his ability to step back, assess what is working and what is not within an organization, identify why, and then assemble the right resources or expertise to address those gaps.
Mr. Tabaschek's academic foundation was established at Universidad Nacional de Lomas de Zamora in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he earned a bachelor's degree in accounting and business administration in 1987. The double major provided him with comprehensive training that has been critical throughout every stage of his career in finance and operations across global markets.
Reflecting on his storied journey to date, Mr. Tabaschek attributes much of his success to remaining true to himself by addressing difficult situations directly rather than avoiding them — an approach that has become integral to his professional identity. His directness fosters trust within his teams and organizations by ensuring that problems are clearly identified and prioritized by urgency and importance.
In addition to his corporate roles, Mr. Tabaschek is known for his dedication to civic engagement. Since 2026, he has served as both treasurer and board member for EcoPaths of South Georgia, where he directs fiscal strategy and fulfills governance responsibilities for a nonprofit organization dedicated to sustainable environmental cleaning initiatives.
On a personal level, Mr. Tabaschek leads a rich and fulfilling family life alongside his wife Maria, to whom he has been happily married since 1995. Together they have one daughter and one son who experienced frequent relocations during their formative years as the family moved 17 times over more than three decades, consistently adapting to new cultures and languages across several countries. Outside of work, he enjoys sailing with his wife, playing padel and other racket-based sports, skiing, biking and walking for recreation.
Also fluent in Spanish, English, Portuguese and French, Mr. Tabaschek's linguistic abilities reflect both his heritage and international experience. He believes deeply that adapting to local cultures is essential for effective cross-border teamwork — an insight shaped by decades spent working globally with diverse teams.
Determined to further his impact in the coming years, Mr. Tabaschek intends to continue building on sustainability initiatives that have been central throughout his career — including carbon sequestration projects completed at Bunge as well as efforts around non-GMO ingredients and sustainable farming practices — with the goal of helping companies grow profitably while supporting their broader environmental objectives.
Now considering himself semi-retired after more than 30 successful years in finance and operations leadership roles worldwide, Mr. Tabaschek remains open to new advisory opportunities or coaching roles where he can share his knowledge with organizations seeking growth or transition support while maintaining his commitment to honesty, adaptability and sustainable business practices.
