AMERICUS, GA, October 14, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- N. Alexandra Riccardi, DMD, has been recognized for her achievements in healthcare and dentistry.

Dr. Riccardi has served as the owner and general dentist at Riccardi General Dentistry since 2023. After acquiring full ownership from her father, who continues to work part-time, Dr. Riccardi led a significant rebranding initiative that transitioned the practice from Louis A. Riccardi, DDS to Riccardi General Dentistry. This change was intended to foster a more inclusive environment and highlight the team's collaborative nature, with all doctors' names now featured on signage and marketing materials. Under her leadership, the practice expanded into a newly purchased and renovated building, increasing its capacity to serve patients from nine surrounding counties—six of which lack dental services. Patients travel considerable distances, some from north of Atlanta and as far south as Florida, often coordinating family vacations around their appointments. The practice now operates seven treatment rooms with three full-time hygienists, three full-time doctors and one part-time doctor. Dr. Riccardi anticipates further growth, planning for four more treatment rooms to meet the needs of a rapidly growing patient base.

From 2015 to 2023, Dr. Riccardi worked as a general dentist at Riccardi General Dentistry after earning her Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree. She joined her father in practice shortly after graduation and became his partner in 2017. During this period, she developed expertise in general dentistry, filler and Botox procedures, implant restoration, veneers and crowns. Her commitment to excellence has been recognized through her appointment as president-elect of the Southwestern District of the Georgia Dental Association and as a member of the Georgia Dental Association Board of Trustees. She also maintains active memberships in the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, the Hinman Dental Society and the Junior Service League. Additionally, Dr. Riccardi is a fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Dental Honor Society.

A testament to her professional achievements came in April 2025 when she was honored as Outstanding Young Alumna by the Dental College of Georgia. This recognition stands among her most distinguished accomplishments.

Dr. Riccardi's educational background laid the foundation for her career in dentistry. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in biology from Reinhardt University in Waleska in 2010 before earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Augusta University Dental College of Georgia in Augusta in 2015. Her academic journey was marked by numerous honors, including the Science and Mathematics Award and Thelma Rogers Silver Eagle Award at Reinhardt University. She has pursued advanced training through certifications such as filler and Botox certification from the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, implant certification from McCracken Implant Education and continuing education in restorative dentistry through Synergy Dental Implant and Restorative Continuing Education.

Dr. Riccardi attributes her success to hard work, determination and unwavering support from her family. Her drive stems from an early interest in healthcare, science and anatomy, which initially led her to consider careers in physical therapy or orthodontics before ultimately choosing dentistry after meaningful reflection during college internships and discussions with her father. Recognizing that a confident smile can transform lives, she found purpose in helping patients overcome dental anxiety and build self-assurance.

Beyond her professional commitments, Dr. Riccardi is actively involved with several civic organizations and community initiatives. She supports toothbrush donations for Operation Christmas Child and contributes to Medical Campus Outreach as well as scholarship programs at Georgia Southwestern State University and Reinhardt University's Moetivation Foundation. As a member of the board of directors for One Sumter Economic Development Foundation, she helps advance local economic opportunities. She also participates with Gamechangers Young Adults Group at First United Methodist Church of Americus.

Her dedication has been recognized through multiple awards over the years: Sparky Reeves/Leadership Award from Sumter County Chamber of Commerce Centennial Year in 2022; Service Member of the Year by Junior Service League in 2017; inclusion among Reinhardt University's 10 Under 10 honorees that same year; Character of Champions Award in 2009; first team all-academic selection, second team all-conference recognition, along with earlier academic accolades.

Born in Americus, Dr. Riccardi values spending time with her husband Wesley Tuner—who works as a financial advisor at Lumature Wealth Partners—and their daughters Foley and Blakely. She enjoys traveling, following University of Georgia athletics, running, working out and sharing adventures with her rescue dog Kirby Belle.

Looking ahead, Dr. Riccardi has hired two female associate dentists who are now working full-time at her practice as part of ongoing expansion efforts that will add four new treatment rooms and introduce sedation dentistry for adults with special needs or dental anxiety—services not widely available locally. One associate is certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and sedation procedures, enabling them to provide essential care that was previously accessible only by traveling long distances to larger cities or specialists. Dr. Riccardi remains committed to preserving the family-oriented culture established by her father while expanding access to comprehensive dental services within South Georgia communities.

Her vision includes developing a long lasting work tenure with associates Dr. Walker and Dr. Peck to further enhance service offerings for patients, while maintaining strong involvement with nonprofit organizations such as the Dental Lifeline Network and the Georgia Dental Association, initiatives supporting those most in need. Balancing responsibilities as a mother, wife, and business owner, Dr. Riccardi continues to strive to make quality dental care accessible to all members of her community.
