ATWATER, CA, October 14, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Timothy John Hanson has been recognized for achievement in manufacturing and service center operations.
Mr. Hanson's career is distinguished by a steady progression through increasingly responsible roles, culminating in his current position as the chief operating officer at West-Mark, a global manufacturer of specialty transport trailers based in California, since 2017. In this capacity, Mr. Hanson oversees all manufacturing operations and service centers for the company. He also leads the internal leadership program, mentors direct reports and encourages continuous skills development among staff. Mr. Hanson's expertise in organizational turnaround and profitability improvement has been instrumental to West-Mark's ongoing success.
Before his current role, Mr. Hanson served as a service operations manager at West-Mark, where he was responsible for managing day-to-day operations and supporting the growth of the company's service division. He initially worked as a regional service manager for the organization in Alaska, where he coordinated service activities across multiple locations.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Hanson excelled as the general manager at a Volvo dealership startup and its sister companies in Fairbanks, Alaska, overseeing business development and operational performance. His foundation in automotive services began with his tenure as a service manager at Kenworth in Fairbanks, where he managed team operations and customer relations. Mr. Hanson previously worked as a diesel mechanic for Holland America in Fairbanks, gaining valuable experience in large vehicle maintenance and repair. His professional journey started as an automobile mechanic at a Chevrolet dealership in Fairbanks, where he developed technical skills that would underpin his later leadership roles.
Mr. Hanson entered the automotive industry after succeeding as a professional dog musher and competitive athlete in Alaska and New England states. He began mushing as a junior competitor in first grade under the mentorship of his stepfather and became a professional by high school. In 1992, Mr. Hanson qualified for the Junior Open North American World Championships in Fairbanks, marking a significant milestone in his athletic career.
Mr. Hanson graduated from North Pole High School in Alaska in 1998 and has continued to expand his education throughout his career through professional training, certifications and specialized programs. He is currently working toward his next educational milestone through the University of California, Merced, continuing a lifelong commitment to personal and professional development. His academic achievements included numerous designations over the past five years, including in emergency management through the Federal Emergency Management Agency, in operational-level response to hazardous materials/weapons of mass destruction incidents from Texas A&M University, and in occupational safety and health professional from the OSHAcademy Safety and Health Training. Mr. Hanson also recently received an associate project management specialized certificate from the University of California, Merced, in 2026.
In addition to his primary work, Mr. Hanson has served as a board member of the Manufacturers Council of the Central Valley since 2026, where he contributes to industry-wide initiatives and advocates for best practices within the sector. He has also served as a guest speaker for the University of California, Merced, PACE and CVOC programs. Civically invested, Mr. Hanson has volunteered with Shriners Children's Hospital.
Mr. Hanson attributes many of his professional accomplishments to the strength of the teams he has had the privilege to lead. Throughout his career, he has helped guide teams through complex manufacturing projects and demanding customer commitments, with an emphasis on quality, accountability and successful execution. His commitment to continued professional development and project management was recognized in 2026 with a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition presented by the Office of U.S. Representative Adam Gray.
Throughout his career, Mr. Hanson has demonstrated a commitment to continuous improvement, leadership development and service to others. While working in Arizona on the evaluation of a potential company acquisition, he intentionally carved out time beyond his professional responsibilities to give back to the Pinal County community he called home during that period, volunteering as a firefighter with a local department. He entered the department's "Red Shirt" probationary program, a demanding training period that typically takes approximately one year to complete, and successfully completed the requirements in six months. Within seven months, he became qualified to operate the department's fire apparatus. Beyond the opportunity to serve his community, the fire service gave Mr. Hanson exposure to a unique form of leadership—one shaped by discipline, trust, teamwork, accountability and decision-making under pressure—that is difficult to experience outside of military or first responder service. He considers the opportunity to serve alongside firefighters and learn from that culture of service an important chapter in his personal and professional development. His dedication to training, conduct and service was recognized on December 20, 2023, when he was named Firefighter of the Year.
Mr. Hanson's approach to personal and professional growth has been shaped by mindset, self-reflection and a commitment to lifelong learning. He credits two important mentors, Adam Barth and his uncle, Fred Green, with helping establish many of the fundamentals that have guided his career, particularly the importance of education, hard work, recognizing opportunities and never becoming complacent in personal growth. Looking ahead, Mr. Hanson remains focused not on a particular title, but on continuing to grow as a leader and making a meaningful contribution to the people and organization he serves. He considers it a privilege and responsibility to help support the more than 300 families connected to West-Mark, while serving its customers and partners around the world and helping position the company for continued growth and long-term success. As a lifelong learner, he intends to continue his education, strengthen his leadership capabilities and create opportunities for the next generation of leaders while honoring the legacy and values upon which West-Mark was built.
