Mr. Kent currently serves as Chief Operating Officer and Partner at Tammen Hospitality Partners, a national hotel brokerage firm founded in 2025. In this role, he leads the operational strategy behind THP's growing national platform, overseeing initiatives across talent acquisition and development, technology innovation, compliance, marketing operations, financial administration, brokerage support, and strategic growth.
His work centers on building scalable systems and organizational infrastructure that empower the firm's brokers, employees, and clients. By strengthening operational workflows, integrating technology, and developing resources that support professional growth, Mr. Kent helps create an environment in which THP's brokerage professionals can spend more time cultivating relationships, advising clients, and executing successful transactions.
Mr. Kent's commitment to operational excellence supports the firm's ability to deliver a consistent client experience while expanding its presence and influence across the hospitality real estate industry. His leadership reflects THP's relationship-driven approach to hospitality investment sales and its belief that sustainable growth begins with intentional investments in people, processes, and technology.
Throughout his career, Mr. Kent has distinguished himself through his ability to collaborate with mid-sized businesses to large organizations, evaluate complex workflows, and translate strategic objectives into practical operating solutions. His expertise includes process innovation, organizational effectiveness, change management, strategic planning, technology adoption, and the thoughtful application of automation to simplify work and improve user experiences.
Prior to joining Tammen Hospitality Partners, Mr. Kent served as Director of Process Innovation at Choice Hotels International. In that role, he collaborated with business groups throughout the organization to lead process discovery and improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma methodologies. He engaged directly with employees closest to the work to understand detailed workflows, operational challenges, undocumented practices, and the institutional knowledge necessary to perform critical business functions.
Mr. Kent translated these findings into clear process maps that defined responsibilities, timelines, dependencies, requirements, and potential barriers to execution. These artifacts helped the organization redesign processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and assess potential applications of emerging technologies, including generative AI. His work also supported the development of performance indicators designed to evaluate outcomes and potential return on investment.
Among his most notable accomplishments at Choice Hotels International, Mr. Kent served as product owner for a back-office platform designed to improve collaboration among business owners, technology teams, and key stakeholders. The work received Innovation of the Year honors, while Choice Hotels executive Doug Lange was recognized by Info-Tech Research Group as a 2025 Innovator of the Year.
From 2021 to 2022, Mr. Kent served as an Organizational Effectiveness Consultant at Slalom, where he supported digital transformation initiatives within highly regulated industries, including banking and healthcare. His work emphasized the importance of organizational change management throughout the project lifecycle, helping ensure that new technologies and processes were supported by the communication, stakeholder engagement, and adoption strategies necessary to achieve lasting results.
Mr. Kent also made significant contributions to public-sector modernization through his work with the State of Arizona's Department of Administration and its Strategic Enterprise Technology division between 2017 and 2021.
As a Senior Engagement Manager from 2017 to 2020, he worked with state agencies to redesign processes, improve operational efficiency, and adapt existing workflows to new technologies. He consulted with agency chief information officers and executive directors to develop annual information technology strategic plans and supported budget requests associated with some of Arizona's leading technology initiatives.
From 2020 to 2021, Mr. Kent served as Director of the Statewide Google Program. In this capacity, he helped approximately 36,000 state employees and contractors transition from 10 separate email systems to Google Workspace. The initiative supported continuity and collaboration across Arizona's government workforce during a period of exceptional operational disruption created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr. Kent also contributed to a Salesforce-based modernization of medical marijuana licensing for the Arizona Department of Health Services, an initiative credited with approximately $20 million in cost savings and avoidance.
In recognition of his contributions to statewide modernization and transformation, Mr. Kent was selected as a 2020 StateScoop 50 State Up & Comer of the Year, a national honor recognizing emerging leaders in state government technology.
Mr. Kent's broader career reflects progressive leadership experience across information technology, marketing, sales, operations, and organizational transformation. It also shaped his ability to understand organizations from multiple perspectives, from frontline execution and client service to organizational design, business strategy, and executive decision-making.
In addition to his business career, Mr. Kent has been represented by Leighton Agency as an actor and model since 2025. He participates in commercial, film, and modeling projects alongside his family. The Kent family was cast together in the feature film Star People, which premiered at the TCL Chinese Theatre in June 2025.
Mr. Kent's academic studies in philosophy and computer science helped fuel his interest in complex systems, technology, and organizational problem-solving. He attended Mesa Community College, played collegiate baseball, and graduated from Mesquite High School in 2002, where he was named to Who's Who Among American High School Student Athletes. He credits his athletic experience with strengthening the discipline, resilience, and commitment to teamwork that continue to influence his leadership approach.
Mr. Kent has also earned several professional credentials that have contributed to his expertise, including a Lean Six Sigma certification, Certificate in Change Agility, and Certificate in Organizational Change Management.
Reflecting on his career, Mr. Kent attributes his success to a growth mindset grounded in curiosity and lifelong learning. He believes that effective leadership starts with a willingness to listen, ask meaningful questions, and remain open to new ideas, regardless of one's title, background, or level of expertise. This people-first approach has enabled him to build trust, navigate complex challenges, and develop solutions informed by the experiences of those closest to the work.
Mr. Kent's entry into hospitality brokerage was inspired by his partnership with Josh Tammen, a respected and nationally recognized hotel broker. After departing Marcus & Millichap, Mr. Tammen sought to build a new venture that emphasized team culture, shared achievement, and enduring client relationships.
Mr. Kent complements Mr. Tammen's sales leadership and hospitality brokerage experience by translating organizational strategy into scalable operations, structured workflows, and technology-supported processes. At Tammen Hospitality Partners, Mr. Kent has helped streamline back-office functions and advance the firm's adoption of generative artificial intelligence and automation. Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Kent has demonstrated a sustained commitment to civic and community engagement. From 2016 to 2023, he supported EPIK Dance Company as a web developer and Google Workspace administrator. Earlier in his life, between 2001 and 2003, he served as a wish kid ambassador, speaker, and model for Make-A-Wish Arizona. Mr. Kent is a Wish Kid and three-time brain tumor survivor. His personal experiences have reinforced his resilience and commitment to helping others navigate challenges with optimism and determination.
Born in California, Mr. Kent is married and has two children. He and his family enjoy acting and modeling together, often participating in projects as a family unit. He also remains actively involved in youth soccer through his leadership, service, and coaching.
Looking ahead, Tammen Hospitality Partners is focused on expanding its national reach by onboarding brokerage professionals in new markets while preserving the relationship-driven culture at the center of its identity. The firm continues to invest in its training programs, onboarding systems, marketing capabilities, operational infrastructure, and technology platform so its professionals can spend more time serving clients and developing lasting industry relationships.
