PHILADELPHIA, PA, October 15, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ethan Mandel has been recognized for achievement in the insurance industry.

Marked by more than a decade of experience and progressive leadership roles, Mr. Mandel currently serves as an executive underwriter at AIG, where he is responsible for the middle market team that works with insureds or insurance buyers whose revenues range from $50 million to $1 billion. Working within an office that comprises approximately 60 professionals across both underwriting, claims, and actuarial functions, he leverages his prior broker experience to strengthen relationships with broker partners, creating competitive advantages for his team and organization.

Prior to assuming his executive-level role, Mr. Mandel previously held the position of underwriter and senior underwriter at the same company from 2022 to 2026, during which he began focusing on cyber and professional liability underwriting. His expertise in emerging risks and determination to stay at the forefront of high-tech advancements led him to become a subject matter expert in technology errors and omissions liability, distributed ledger technology and artificial intelligence.

During this time, Mr. Mandel played a pivotal role in developing North American Technology underwriting protocols for these areas, helping to set AIG's appetite and procedures for new and complex risks to maintain high-level underwriting standards. He also spearheaded an initiative that focuses on understanding quantum computing as a Tech exposure, recognizing its potential to introduce significant challenges to the insurance industry in the near future.

Before joining AIG, Mr. Mandel worked at Aon in Washington, D.C., first as an account specialist from 2018 to 2020 and then as a senior account specialist from 2020 to 2022. During this period, he served a wide range of clients including public entity, government contractor, nonprofit and life sciences clients, which provided him with valuable insight into the insurance process and enhanced his ability to deliver tailored risk management solutions.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Mandel gained diverse experience through several roles outside of the insurance sector. In 2018, he operated a 1-800-Got-Junk truck out of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, preceded by a utility expo position at the Brick and Barrel Taphouse establishment in Horsham from 2015 to 2018. He also completed an underwriting internship at Maiden Reinsurance North America (now Enstar) in 2017 and a marketing internship at The Risk Management Association from 2016 to 2017, both of which equipped him with many of the skills he continues to utilize at AIG today.

Before venturing onto his path in the insurance realm, Mr. Mandel pursued higher education and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in risk management and insurance with a minor in management information systems from the Fox School of Business at Temple University in 2018. To augment his qualifications, he obtained the Cyber COPE Insurance certificate from Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University in 2022, became licensed as a property and casualty producer in 2021 and was designated as an associate in risk management by the Institutes Knowledge Group in 2019.

Reflecting on his storied journey thus far, Mr. Mandel credits his mother as his primary role model and source of inspiration. Raised by her as a single parent during challenging economic times while also caring for his older brother with high-functioning autism, he learned the values of resilience and determination early on in life.

Mr. Mandel's time living and working in Washington, D.C., was especially influential at the outset of his insurance career, with the region's unique position between major industry hubs requiring extra effort for him to achieve results and secure support within the field. This environment helped him further develop his adaptability and perseverance, qualities that have defined his professional approach.

Beyond his career achievements, Mr. Mandel is known for his civic engagement and philanthropic efforts. Since 2022, he has been involved with the Philadelphia Children's Alliance as a volunteer, donor and participant in annual charity events such as Bear Affair and an annual softball tournament supporting children who have experienced abuse or neglect. He also helped neighbors in need as a food service worker for So Others May Eat, Inc. in 2018, volunteered at Golden Slipper Camp events in 2017 and participated as a fundraiser for HootaThon at Temple, which raises money and awareness for the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Happily married since 2023 and a devoted family man, Mr. Mandel enjoys traveling — inspired by Anthony Bourdain's "No Reservations" — exploring restaurants, trying new cuisines and experimenting with his own cooking at home. On a personal note, he and his wife are proud pet parents having recently rescued a puppy that is a mix of Border Collie and Dachshund.

Determined to further his impact in the coming years, Mr. Mandel envisions advancing within the corporate structure while gaining more experience in managing direct reports and leading teams. Ultimately, he aims to establish his own consultancy dedicated to best practices in cybersecurity — aligning his skills, passions and professional experience with the ever-evolving needs of the modern-day insurance industry.
