Ms. Wise's career in the furniture industry is distinguished by her expertise in decorative accessories, purchasing, procurement, vendor negotiations and merchandising. As a merchandise manager at AVB Marketing since 2022, Ms. Wise has demonstrated exceptional skill in managing vendor rebate and discount programs for independent dealers.

Among a range of responsibilities in her leading role, Ms. Wise is tasked with merchandising dealer websites, ensuring products are accurately categorized and visually represented, and communicating critical vendor updates and pricing changes. At furniture market events, she coordinates showroom product availability and maintains clear communication between the group and its vendor partners. Ms. Wise's ability to negotiate programs that provide value to all parties involved has been a consistent hallmark of her career, saving money for companies and ensuring mutually beneficial contracts for both businesses and their customers.

Before assuming her current position, Ms. Wise served as a key vendor relations manager at AVB Marketing between 2022 and 2025. In this capacity, she played a pivotal role in fostering relationships with suppliers and optimizing procurement strategies for the benefit of the organization's dealer network.

Recruited from Nebraska Furniture Mart, Ms. Wise was affiliated with the organization between 2015 and 2022. She began her journey as a supply planner, a role she held until 2018, where she maintained inventory levels to meet customer demand while maintaining cost efficiency. Ms. Wise then served as an assistant buyer, where she contributed to inventory management and purchasing decisions that supported the company's growth, followed by the role of replenishment planner and, finally, process improvement analyst II, where she focused on refining operational processes within the company's supply chain and merchandising functions.

Ms. Wise's work in the furniture industry was preceded by several years in a maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) and construction procurement role with a property management company from 2013 to 2015. She oversaw purchases for apartment repairs and updates, handling everything from routine supplies to large-scale projects like repaving parking lots and updating building exteriors.

Earlier, Ms. Wise held a service parts logistics position with LG Electronics for one year, where she sourced replacement parts for field technicians. She also spent five years in an MRO and production hardware buyer role at a government-contract manufacturing facility in Alabama. Ms. Wise managed procurement of overhead supplies, office materials and hardware for the manufacturing floor, drawing on her strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms.

Ms. Wise's professional foundation was established as a manager at Ace Hardware in Southern California prior to 2008. She was the only female manager among more than 15 stores in the San Diego and Orange County area, overseeing merchandising and purchasing while cross-training staff across departments. Ms. Wise's leadership during this time included re-merchandising stores throughout the region when managers departed, an experience that sparked her lasting interest in merchandising.

Ms. Wise earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Athens State University in Athens, Alabama, in 2012. Her academic journey was shaped by perseverance as she balanced coursework with raising two children. Although she initially considered pursuing a law degree, Ms. Wise's early experiences in government-contract manufacturing led her to continue building a career in purchasing instead.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Ms. Wise is actively engaged in civic life through volunteer work at her church. She serves twice monthly in the kids' ministry during Sunday morning services, an innovative program that offers dedicated children's services rather than traditional classrooms. She also helps organize spring and fall festivals for the congregation. Additionally, Ms. Wise occasionally volunteers at Christian concerts alongside her husband.

Throughout her career, Ms. Wise has consistently leveraged her negotiation abilities to secure advantageous contracts and benefits for her employers and their partners. She takes particular pride in contributing to program negotiations that save money while providing value to all stakeholders.

Ms. Wise's commitment to excellence has been recognized through several prestigious awards. In 2017, after just two years with Nebraska Furniture Mart, she received the President's Award for outstanding departmental achievements among more than 1,500 employees, an honor highlighting her significant impact early on. Ms. Wise also earned both a Women's Achievement Award and a Leadership Achievement Award through selective professional development programs at Nebraska Furniture Mart, completing rigorous eight-week courses focused on leadership skills.

Crediting much of her professional success to the individuals she has worked alongside, Ms. Wise notes several supportive leadership team members and talented colleagues who have inspired her passion for learning new skills and solving complex problems collaboratively. Looking ahead, she intends to continue doing what she loves by increasing direct interaction with dealers within her group, traveling more frequently to their stores and regional meetings across the country so she can engage more deeply with them beyond occasional encounters at markets or vendor shows. Content with her current position and team dynamic, Ms. Wise seeks greater exposure to customers rather than managerial responsibilities or team leadership roles.
