CULLMAN, AL, October 19, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Andrew Minor, ME, PE, has been recognized for achievement in engineering and consulting services.
Mr. Minor currently serves as the engineering director at Minor Engineering PLLC, a role he has held since 2022. In this capacity, he oversees all engineering operations for the multifaceted firm, which provides professional engineering consulting services, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) design for commercial, industrial and residential buildings, forensic engineering analyses of mechanical and structural devices, conducts construction inspections for commercial developments and executes preconstruction site grade modeling and civil takeoffs.
In his current role, Mr. Minor is responsible for allocating resources effectively to meet project goals and exceed performance expectations while expanding the company's expertise across all disciplines, ensuring efficient coordination and timely execution. He signs and seals all engineering drawings produced by the company, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Under his leadership, Minor Engineering PLLC has developed key partnerships with larger firms such as Total Design Engineering, One Day Closer Engineering and National MEP to enhance its service offerings.
Before Minor Engineering PLLC, Mr. Minor was a senior scientific and technical intelligence analyst with the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), an intelligence component of the United States Department of War. In this position, he led a team of approximately 40 intelligence analysts from across the enterprise specializing in all-source scientific and technical intelligence analysis. His work focused on using scientific and technical methods to evaluate intelligence data, and determine the characteristics, performance, operations and vulnerabilities of foreign weapons systems.
After completing these assessments, Mr. Minor communicated critical findings directly to warfighters, weapons developers, policymakers, and homeland security, providing them with essential information that contributed to national security and the safety of personnel in combat situations. He also found great fulfillment in mentoring junior and senior engineers, guiding their professional development and fostering technical expertise within his team.
Earlier in his career, from 2015 to 2018, Mr. Minor worked as a mechanical engineer at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center after being awarded a prestigious fellowship following a rigorous selection process that required him to secure sponsorship within NASA and submit a comprehensive research proposal. There, he engaged in research, testing and analysis aimed at determining the optimal material, design, and additively manufactured heat treatment process for NASA's Space Launch System program. Through a series of quasi-static and dynamic stress and strain testing, digital imaging correlation analysis, computed topography analysis to determine porosity quantification, and microscopic grain analysis, his contributions directly influenced the material and design implemented on the rocket's nose cone.
Mr. Minor's academic achievements have played a pivotal role in his professional success. He earned a Master of Engineering in mechanical engineering from The University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2019 after previously obtaining a Bachelor of Engineering in mechanical engineering from the same institution in 2017. His academic journey began with an Associate of Science in mechanical engineering from Bevill State Community College in 2015.
Complementing his formal education, Mr. Minor's credentials include licensure as a professional mechanical engineer in Alabama in 2022, as well as Texas, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and Florida. This qualification has enabled him to sign and seal engineering documents across multiple states while supporting his consulting practice. He also holds certification as a certified defense all-source analyst from the United States Department of War as of 2019. Throughout his career, Mr. Minor has also maintained active membership in industry organizations such as the National Society of Professional Engineers.
The influence of family has been central to Mr. Minor's achievements. Inspired by his father — a mechanical engineer who has served as director of engineering at his company for over three decades — Mr. Minor was drawn early on to pursue a similar path. The unwavering support from his wife has further empowered him to take calculated risks throughout his career; her encouragement has been instrumental as he navigated new opportunities and challenges.
Mr. Minor has contributed scholarly work to the field through a number of publications. These include "Quantification of porosity and microstructure and their effect on quasi-static and dynamic behavior of additively manufactured Inconel 718," published by Elsevier in 2020, and "Microstructure-topology relationship effects on the quasi-static and dynamic behavior of additively manufactured lattice structures," published by Elsevier in 2019.
A native of Jasper, Mr. Minor enjoys golf, hunting and football in his spare time. Deeply family-oriented and guided by his faith, he is driven to excel in his field and values the people he works with. Looking ahead, he plans to grow Minor Engineering PLLC by expanding its workforce and strengthening its presence in mechanical engineering, while branching into other engineering disciplines. Mr. Minor believes that doing his best adds value to those around him, and that contributing to others comes before personal accomplishment.
